Date of birth: 11th of January 1974

  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • In 1980, when my father borrowed a PET.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • ZX80 - played spaceinvaders.
ZX Spectrum 16k - programmed BASIC.
    Commodore64 - Demos and music
    Amiga500 - Demos and music

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Well, I did it all. Music, coding and graphics. And I even managed to have a
    life besides all of that!

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • I made the NoiseTracker, because I wanted a great musicprogram!

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • None, I guess, because there's always more to do!

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • I'm pretty happy with all of them! :)

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • It sets the mood of the demo.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • I am composing a cappella music, and every now and then making Commodore64
game music remixes. You'll find them at http://remix.kwed.org and then search
    for "Mahoney"

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • MIDI is no fun to listen to. Mp3's were awful up until 1999, when encoders
    got better.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • The C64 music Spellbound by Rob Hubbard.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • I have already done that, printed on an extremely small scale!

  • 12-What bands are you currently listening to?

  • A cappella music, all kinds of!

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • 50 floppy disks and 2 meters of fan mail. ;) Thanks!

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Now and then, mostly at http://www.remix64.com

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • There's more at http://mahoney.c64.org - Have a noise night!
