Handle: Vogue (since 1997), Ranger (old handle)

Group: Plasma, Dream, Power Of Darkness - more I can´t remember...

Date of birth: June, 27th 1969

  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • It started in 1985 with a Sinclair ZX-81. I saw the computer at my friends
home and decided to buy one. It was only a black and white screen/computer
without sound, but it was the "gate" to the Commodore C64.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • I had a Sinclair ZX-81 (Basic programming), Commodore C64 (Programming, Music
composing), and a Commodore Amiga (Music, Midi). Today I´m using a PC
(Pentium 1, 200 MHz only) for composing my music (PC and MIDI).

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I never want to stop composing music... For nothing in this world!

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • I had my own music-routine on the C64, coded my Edwin Determann and Dave
Hogendorf (Scoop Design). It was a really great and very fast routine!
Particular I can´t remember any name of a program.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Well, I think it was (of course) the Turrican II music on the C64... I still
receive emails from all over the world, because they like my music. Don´t
ask me why, but of course I like to get and read emails like that :-)))

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • It´s always funny to listen to the old tunes I´ve composed. So, NO, there´s
no tune I really don´t like!

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • It´s one of the most important things...
A demo or game without music is like a computer without a keyboard or a car
    without an engine :-)

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Of course I´m still composing. If you like to download same samples, please
visit my webpage. If anyone wants to have a tune for a demo or game, just
    write me...!

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Mp3 is a great thing for spreading music-files. Without mp3 it wasn´t possible
to spread my music via my webpage. Also you can find a lot of cool tunes by
    other composers.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Hawkeye was a great tune - all in all I like most of the MANIACS OF NOISE
    tunes.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • :-) Funny that you ask me... There´s already a CD called "VIRUS". It came
out in December 2001. It´s only available at mp3.com, but it´s the cheapest
way to produce an audio cd. For more informations about my music and the VIRUS
cd visit my webpage at www.siebold.info

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Jean Michel Jarre, Alizee, Kai Tracid and Paul Oakenfold - I think that´s it...

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • The C64 scene gave me lot of cool guys and great parties. But most of all the
    memories are the best...

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No... Just a view contacts to old friends. If anyone is searching for a
    composer: HERE I AM :-)

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Yes, I´d like to thank Susan Heffelfinger, Peter Hall and Chris Huelsbeck for
being very friendly while our visit in California/US. And I´d like to greet
Phil, Susan´s father and mom, Andreas Szostak, Martin Kratz and Edwin Determann
    (and wife).
