  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • My father made his dr. in computer sciences & electrical engineering, so i came in contact with computers at the early age of 2 or 3 and coded my first game "saber-riders" on a self-made comp of my dad when i was 5. ;) i started playing piano at the age of 7 and made my own first song with my yamaha keyboard at the age of 9.. ;)

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • I had several studios with all synthesizers on earth you can imagine and with lots of different djs, producers and other people together..

I liked very much the atari cubase setup with some analog synths and effect machines and distortions for the acid lines together with some self made breakbeats (even if not so fast to make in cubase like in ft2)..

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I did gfx (ansi, ascii art) and coding (enhanced the proboard bbs system in many ways from coloured flashing "press a key" apps ;) to whole coloured selection bar menus and coloured selection bar file listings and more bbs stuff.. besides i coded some synths long before vst was out there, then some small games and dos file utilities like REAL renaming tools and other useful stuff, in the newer times i teached myself the whole direct-x 9 with two books and all there was left to c++ as i studied digital film arts, but never really used it afterwards.. ;)

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • I started with modedit 4ch, then came scream tracker, then fasttracker, and i stayed with it a loooong time as it had midi support.. only renoise could top it..

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I never felt like reaching a "goal".. my goal was doing music for a special generation of people... i could say i reached my goal every time i finished a tune that became even more professional and had totally new elements in style that i never heard before..

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • No not really, my tunes are a mirror of my personality and feelings and changes in that time, i started bringing out music and even a cd that was sold at a big music market at a shopping mall when i was 13. ;)
I just forgot some volume effect commands in the tracker while sending it to the production company and noticed it afterwards.. that was something i can not really be proud of.. ;))

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Well, music is the ambience that surrounds and pushes the whole atmosphere while watching a demo/film/game and can further be just a nice but "NICE" side effect when there is just some technical stuff or action going on, but music CAN always support and push a product to the high value it really has when you do it right..

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • At the moment i dont have very much time, even not to gather my synths and effect machines which are partly just "lost somewhere" in other studios that even have moved to some other place or country.. ;) so i rather go to people
with working studios today.. ;) at the moment i am working on an electro track with a hard fat distorted electro bassline synth and some electro breakbeats..

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I dont really understand this question, but maybe it relates to some years back... i never really realized artists releasing their songs in wav format or make music videos like mpeg or even doing midi stuff as it sounds different on every machine... so in genereal i can just say i know some guys who
invented and engineered (developed) the mpeg formats for example, but i think some more lossless compressed formats for video like flac for audio should be out for a long time now, i can't see these mpeg squares (even on digital tv now!) anymore..

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • No sorry.. as there are not many of them anymore on the net, my old harddrive crashed.. ;), the bbs's are closed and the good ones mainly on old cassette tapes..

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • I once did, but as mentioned, poorly most of them are gone..

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • I dont have special "bands".. i like specific "elements of style" in generel in music, but poorly only very few people know about them.. ;)

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • A feeling of a new reality that is out there, where people can be and state what they are and not
get laughed at, because you see their products and WHAT they are proud of..

It was a world of global communication in form of trading disks all over the planet per postal service
or trader guys, besides this was a world of creativity, REALITY in its overemphasized form and art.

..and the possiblity to have a 0/1 computer and the dream of some kind of computer based intelligence,
and if not at all possible and as we know today never human-like, it has always been it's own kind of intelligence
and reality.. ;) some can see it, some don't.. ;)

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • "the scene has changed".. the alltime favourite words can be used every few years again..
people change.. so the "scene" does.. i think it goes more into individualism for older scene guys,
who form new kinds of (sometimes commercial) businesses, like organizing big events or djing, producing
for tv and big raves, many can be found in the media business from hardware to games to music, partys, events
    and even tv and film..

As i work in the media, at the moment video producing and editing for tv and organize drum&bass events
(keeping the people on a "good" vibe together) i can still make many worthful contacts all over the world
and have my own "scene" today in which i often meet people i have met before..

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • I can just say, start beeing yourself, be creative and learn understanding other people, DO something
to understand and keep this global happy vibe of individualism alive and dont copy other people's personality, try to understand what's behind it and understand the real values.. else you're just chaos! ;)
