  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I guess it was the year 1982 when my sister bought a Atari VCS 2600 with
PACMAN! I was addicted to these games. Later on, in 1986 my parents bought
an Atari 800 XL for me. I guess that was the year when it really started.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • I actually have:
    -Atari VCS 7800 (playing :)
-Atari 800 XL (playing, watching demos!)
-Atari 1040 STF (I have 3-4 different STs, use them for watching demos only atm)
-Atari Falcon 030 (Im tracking on it, do chiptunes and ASCII-Art)
-PC (AMD 1GHz, is used for ASCII, Music, working on my CD-archives
    and watching PC demos)

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I always loved music and back in 1988 I got infected by Acid House. Since that
time, the wish to make music inside me did grow every day. In 1991 I bought
some turntables and started DJing. In the same year I got hold of the first
tracker-programs for the ATARI ST. I also did some small graphics and design
stuff and do ASCII-Art besides tracking.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • DIGITRACKER (first acceptable tracker on STE)
    X-TRACKER (STE)
Octalyser STE (I used this one nowadays on Falcon for 4-8 channel mods)
Sid Sound Designer and Insignia TriSound (used for chipmusics)

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Hm, good question. "Das Tannhäuser Tor" could be such a mod.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Hehe, yes... ALL of my first tunes from 1991-1994 or so :) Terrible mods :)

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • The importance of music is higher then grafix/design or code. It's very
important. Watching a demo without music is boring as hell. Music adds
    character to a production.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Im still composing yes. As I said, I work as a DJ and also want to release
some of my tracks on vinyl so... could be seen as professional reason, dunno.
I mostly do chiptunes nowadays, less modfiles.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • MP3 is a very cool packing algorithm but when it comes to parties I don't
like it when there are MP3 compos coz... WHERE's THE COMPETITION? Tell me? :)

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • I suppose you mean modfiles? Well:

!Cube/Agression - Translucent world (as well as most stuff from !Cube)
Djamm (now called KEIO)/Extreme Kriminal Orangization (EKO) - In heaven
    Agony - Titlemusic
Stax/Lazer - Return to Schnurks (Lost Blubb endtune)
Tommy/Avena (+RIP) - You are maybe (Enrage demotune)
    Teque/Agression - Decadence (Braindamage demotune)
Domm/Animal Mine - Purple Sky (Dreams endtune)
Scy/The Sirius Cybernetics Corp. - Checkered Subgliep
Toodeloo/Dead Hackers Society - Summer Rain

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Sure, but not on CD. As I said before on vinyl. Ok, maybe CD later.
One of my tracks appeared on a promo-cd sampler called ELECTUZ in december
2001. The track is called BEAMS ARE GONNA BLIND ME and can be downloaded at:

    http://www.lotekstyle.de/

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Freestylers, 8 bit rockers, Little Computer People/Anthony Rother,
Miss Kittin & the hacker, Future Sound of London, Time Modem.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Ehm :) Well as I was never a part of any of those scenes... hmm, the amiga
scene was always the enemy in the past :) now this is gone :) the c64 started
my love to chipmusics... the last ninja (the wilderness).... I always wished
I had such sounds on my Atari 800 XL :)

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • YES! Apart from doing atari chipmusics and modfiles from time to time, I'm
also doing some ASCII stuff. Check (http://tscc.atari.org/siriart.html) for
my collies. I also worked for Undercover Magascene. An atari demoscene diskmag
(http://www.sirlab.de/tscc/ucm.html). My biggest project at the moment is
called: FADING TWILIGHT ... It's similar to AMP, but it's for atari musics.
A huge collection of atari demoscene music sorted after musicians. Right now
I have released 4 CD's containing over 4000 tunes! Check those URLs for more:
    (http://tscc.atari.org/fadtwilg.html) and (http://fading-twilight.atari.org).
In the back of my mind there is another project called NO FRAGMENTS that
covers Atari ST Megademos and demo/game compilations on several CD's...
this one's still in progress. Yes, I am active :)

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • I greet all the members of THE SIRIUS CYBERNETICS CORPORATION aswell as all
people from the demoscene who know me. Thanx for your support.
