Commodore 64, Commodore 128, Commodore 128d, Amiga 500, Amiga 600, Amiga CD32+SX-1, Amiga 1200, SonyHitBit MSX, Vic 20...should I go on? I use the C64/128 and Amiga for music, graphics, programming, games & demos. I ended up making music because the musician in my C64 group left and we couldn't find a new one :-) As you see from question 2 I also do gfx and code. Mainly various incarnations of Sound/Noise/Pro-Tracker, but recently also the excellent AHX and some other old & obscure programs (don't remember the names of those, sorry). I don't think I've reached it yet, to tell you the truth. I'm really happy with the music from the c64 demo Aquarium, but that doesn't count, does it? Umm...yeah, there's lots of those. "mod.it_suxx" and "mod.strykejernets_hevn" spring to mind. Basically, they're crap. In a demo it is everything - a game can be fun to play even without any music so you can turn down the volume if the music sucks - watching a demo without music - or with the WRONG music though...it is simply not the same. This doesn't mean that music can't improve a game and give it a better atmosphere though, just look at The Last Ninja 1 and 2 on the C64 and imagine those without the music. Leisure, absolutely. I doubt that anyone would pay for my music. Though I might do the music for an Amiga shoot'em up I'm doing with a friend... if it's good enough we might try to sell it. Mpeg my butt. If you want to fill up your hard drive with mp3 files then go ahead - me, I prefer ahx, sid & mod music, more music, less space :-) Oh, and besides, REAL musicians don't need more than 3 channels in mono ;-) 6581 4-ever 8-) In no order: Phantoms of the asteroids cover by 4-Mat (mod) Mental Hangover by Uncle Tom (mod) Complications by Tomas Danko (mod) Klisje paa klisje by Walkman (mod) Shagma by Jogeir Liljedahl (mod) Wizball by Martin Galway (sid) Sanxion by Rob Hubbard (sid) The Last Ninja II by Matt Gray (sid) Cybernoid II by Jeroen Tel (sid) Flimbo's Quest by Johannes Bjerregaard & Reyn Ouwehand (sid) I don't think so, no... The Cure, Madonna, Nina Hagen, No Doubt, Madness, Bob Marley... It provides me with lots of nice & interesting people who share my interests, it gives me an opportunity to have my work seen by a worldwide audience and to express myself as an artist. I love the fact that the whole thing is non-commercial & slightly underground. Yes, on the following systems: Amiga, C64, NES and MSX. Although my work has been/is used in PC productions I don't really feel like getting involved in the pc demo scene. Ok...Greetings fly out to all the other Scoopex members, to my friends in #amigano and #amigascne and #c-64. If I start listing individuals I'll just forget someone... If you want to hear my music (why? why?) or see my graphics (slightly better) drop by my site, it's updated frequently (well sort of). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2001 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
