  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I started the interest to computers in 1981 with a Sinclair ZX81 for some basic coding and gaming above all.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Sinclair ZX81: code / game
Sinclair Spectrum ZX+2: code / game
Amstrad CPC464: game / music (chip)
Amstrad CPC6128: game / music (chip)
Commodore C64: game / music (chip)
    Atari 1040 ST: game / music (midi/chip/mod)
    Atari 520 STE: game / music (midi/mod)
    Amiga 500: : game / music (mod)
    Atari Falcon 030:: game / music (midi/mod)
    Amiga 1200: : game / music (mod)
    PC: everything

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I guess I got bored of coding to continue, not to mention the discouragement of my math teacher who didn't really help.
One of my first job was 2d/3d graphist but I didn't found the fun in it.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Module: Protracker, Noisetracker, Octamed, Fast tracker, Digital Music Tracker... I think I tried a lot of soundtrackers, don't remember which one I used the most.
Midi: Cubase on my first Atari then I used the common ones (Pro tools, Logic Audio Pro, Sonic Foundry Acid...)
Chiptune: don't remember the name but the interface was similar to soundtrackers..

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • None. I never intended to reached a goal because I was composing for fun.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • No. all my songs gives me a specific souvenir of my life.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • A big game changer because a part of the dynamic in a demo is brought by the music.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • As an audio director working in the video game industry, I work and have fun on great projects.
I also have a music producing label.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Well, this is the evolution of the music: if you want your tracks to be played, you don't have other choice to follow the trend.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Sorry, I don't have one in particular.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Not yet but I'm thinking of if I have time for that.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listening to?

  • I don't listen a specific band or artist, it'ss the part of my job to listen to every kind of music.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • First of all, I gaves me the opportunity to share fun and creativity with other people.
Also, I met fantastic persons and got involved in many coding parties (or copy parties, you name it).

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • All the MentasM crew who included me in the beginning of the 90s and the people in the demoscene I've met in my youth.
