  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I got my first c64 around 1987 but my interest in computers go beyond that, as
some friends had C128s in their house and I was pretty amazed with what they
could do. Anyway I got my own c64 and from that day ...

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • You mean apart from the amiga? As I said, a c64 and my father had
some really strange old PCs that I used for basic programming and text-editing.
I was an active c64 scene member for some years, as a swapper and gfx-artist
(a very very bad one though)

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • On the c64 gfx was more a matter of how-to than talent. You could make logos
that looked OK if you knew some basics about color combos and such, even if
you had no talent whatsoever. And I actually DID some programming on the amiga,
and even released a few intros, rather simple ones but still... anyway I was
good with music, and it was my main interest beside computers. And on the c64
my dream was always to make music, but I never quite got the hang of it and the
trackers were rather complex, so the user-friendly amiga trackers were pretty
much the pivotal factor in making me an amiga musician.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • On the amiga I used Noisetracker and Protracker, mostly Protracker.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Um, ehh. Really, I found some of my chip-music quite OK but I wouldn't say
    anything like reaching any goal.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Honestly, I think my talent are rather limited, and especially when I listen
to my "standard" modules (not chipmusic) I do some serious toe-curling.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Hm, its rather important I think, and especially as the focus in demos switched
from making the most complex lightsourced vectors to overall design and
impression, the music played a critical role. Just look at the fantastic overall
impression in much of the Lemon and Melon Dezign stuff. Simple, stylish, fresh.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • I have been composing quite alot on PC, using Fasttracker at first, and later
Buzz and Reason 2.0. I havent been very active lately though, but I am planning
to do serious efforts in making some nice, intelligent music at some point. So
its pretty much for leisure purposes, and even though I want to continue music,
I have no ambitions of making it a business.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I'm a pretty big fan of the mp3 format, and its a good way for talented
musicians to spread their music to a wide audience with relatively litle effort.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • On amiga? Well, I was a great admirer of chipmusic. I especially liked the work
of Mel'o'dee and Chromag, and I must say that some of Mel'o'dees tunes were
absolutely fantastic. I also liked the "later" work of Audiomonster, for his
creativity and "new" approach to amiga music.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • No, no, no.. I wont bother anyone with my own nostalgia ;)

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • As for intelligent music, I love Autechre, u-Ziq, Telefon Tel Aviv, Funkstörung,
Gescom, Mouse On Mars, System and so on. I listen to a fair amount of dub and
reggae music, and a lot of hip-hop music, especially Shurik'n, IAM, Def Bond,
MC Solaar and other french artists, as well as bosnian Edo Maajka ++ alot of
foreign language rap. And I must also mention Frank Zappa and Prince as my
    all-time favourite musicians.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Hm. Alot of time inside my room in front of my computer I suppose, but I also
remember it as a time of creativity, swapping with a lot of interesting people
from all over the world, alot of fun, a good understanding of computers and also
I like to believe it did infact give me some experience with organization across
    (geographical) borders.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Nope.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Well, I would like to greet all former members of Utopia and Dual 4mat, and
those turkish folk from Saints/Legacy. To all my former contacts, feel free to
contact me pr mail or msn for any relevant reason.....
