    Group: none really

    Date of birth: I'm 31.

  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • 1982, my mate got a ZX81 and we started writing basic programs

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • ZX81,Spectrum, C64, Amiga, still got most of them although most dont
    work any more.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I cant draw and my coding skills were rather hit or miss..

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Lately ? Fast tracker 2 and Studio Vision Pro

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Suspicious Cargo, it was all timed to go with the intro.. But for sheer fun
I liked my Gods title Remix, cos Richard Joseph had some great vox samples
in it but his mix was kinda light, and I wanted to give it some bollocks...
    So I did :)

I liked my harlequin ingame tunes cos they were all mostly solid pieces too.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Impossamole.. It was crap. But then I just did what I was asked to do which
was a housey remix of the original piece..

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Its the atmosphere.. Which is pretty much everything really isnt it.. It
    makes the storytelling jump alive...

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Both, I just finished a full cd version of the lotus 2 title music for the
Immortal 2 cd, and theres a couple more that I have still to do, (Hero Quest
ingame, and Supercars 2). As for work, I've taken a slight break from games
for a bit to do sound for toys, (read - getting back to basics), in these
days its all to simple to get lost in the massive banks of synthesised sounds
and effects boxes, so its nice to take a step back and focus on the actual
music. Sure I spend a lot of time doing horrible 2 channel beeper renditions
of Old Macdonald had a farm, but then I also get to write some killer
lullabys in 4 channel samples just like the Amiga :)

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I think people dont focus on the melody as much as they could do..

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Real tracks...
    Pink Moon - Nick Drake
    Marianne - Sisters Of Mercy
Real Gone Kid - Deacon Blue

    Amiga mods...
Scrambled Mind - Heatbeat - I still listen to that one.. Some dude sent me
17 meg of heatbeat tunes, he was very talented, I hope he is still composing..
    Xenon 2 - ??? RJ ? or DW ?
I liked most of RJ's tunes on the Amiga, he was always being more creative
    than me.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Yeah I had a couple of tracks on the Immortal 1 cd and there will be more on
    the Immortal 2 cd..

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Underworld, The Stranglers, The Mission, just about everything really.,..

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Fun and good melodies..

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Not the amiga scene as such, although I do still get a lot of email requests
    to do mixes etc.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Thanks to all the people who've emailed me over the years that enjoyed the
music I wrote in those few short years...
