  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • A friend of mine bought himself a Commodore VC 20 ... so I had to do the
same. It was in the year 1982.

Soon the games that were delivered with these machines were boring, so I
started coding my own ones (with character gfx ;- )) ). That was when my
computer and programming interest started ...

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Oh ... previously I had a bicycle (its also a machine ;-)) ) and some kind of
a early game-console, where you could play ping-pong and such simple, but
    funny games.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Missing talent and no more time ... I had to do another job at Spreadpoint ...

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Hrrgl ... I don't remember exactly ... I think we composed the melody on
keyboard an I guess we played it in with Steinberg s/w.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • There were only two, the one from the green ground demo and a little bit of
the X-Large Music ... some parts of green ground are pretty nice ...

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • All kind of this shit american Soft-Pop-Music. We have our own musical culture
in Europe, we do not need this McDonalds-Sound.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Great ! It transports the emotions, the high-feeling. But it should match to
the goal of the demo/game, more mystically or more heroical or what else the
    demo/game is about

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • No ... but I greatly enjoy good remixes of old Computer-Sounds ..

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Hmmm .. in general I think it's a good thing.

The great advantage of this possibility to electronically compose and
distribute music is a social one: music becomes democratic !!

Almost everybody is able to compose his own tunes and everybody is able to
access almost every track he/she wants to hear. That's a new and a great
    achievement !

The disadvantage is that, if everybody produces music, there's a lot of shit
around the net and it is really difficult to find the good tunes or the ones
    that match your taste.

A second disadvantage is, that some formats (i.e. mp3) cut some frequences
so that you hear a slight difference between an old analog record and a
    mp3-tune.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Yeah ... Parallax (Thx to THC Flatline for the GREAT remix .. still searching
for your super extended version ;-)) )

Of course some of the older Techno-Tunes, i.e. Nikolai / Ready to flow (RMB
    remix), Quench etc.

In the classical area Philipp Glass, some soundtracks, i.e. Koyaanisquatzi,
    are great !

And the "tunes" of the best composer of all time, J.S. Bach !!!

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • :-))) I instantly create audio-Cd's, but only for private use ...

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • No bands ... the tunes I mentioned before ... if you go to the Pop-Genre,
ATB is at the moment one of the best ...

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • freedom

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Hmm ... not any more ... too much work and who does nowadays know Spreadpoint??

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Best regards to all Spreadpoint-Members, also to our local Scene here where
I live (MatInc and Django) and to all the people who lived in peace together
in our virtual world (Tobi of Haujobb).

One last word: I wish the scene could become ONE power to free the world.
