Dec. 1975 Don't remember, but I started off with a Commodore 64 back in the late eighties. Commodore 64 - Playing games, coding in basic, watching demos. Amiga 500/1200 - Making music. PC - Work, nostalgia, surfing I'm a musical person, and started with music long before I got into computer-music. ProTracker. I've never been fully satisfied with a module. But my best one is called "Object of Desire", and was the last module I composed before quitting the scene. I'm also quite satisfied with "Weak, but unique", and I think "Hawkeye" is a decent chip, with a good feel to it. Boiled lobster. How could I do those terrible drums? :-) Very important for the overall feeling. No, I do not. What Amiga-music and C64-music was all about, was getting much out of limited resources. Today's music seems to be too much about getting a professional sound on your music. That aspect seems to overshadow the music itself sometimes. Where are the good melodies and the good musical ideas? Of course, there are exceptions, but this is quite a general feeling I've got. Guitar slinger by Jogeir Liljedahl Monday by Random Voice Canal Green Citronative by Dizzy Klisje paa klisje by Walkman Distant call by Mr Man and loads of others... No, it's too time-consuming. Sigur Ròs, Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons Project, Genesis, The Flower Kings, Madrugada, The Beatles, U2, Mew and lots of others... It was a really special time, and I made many friends. Unfortunately I don't have contact with any of them at a regular basis now. I was also fortunate to be the main organizer of the Rendezvous '93 party in Kristiansand, Norway. That was a really good experience - a lot of responsibility on an 18 year old, and I learned a lot from it. No, but I listen to the old modules of nostalgic reasons. If any of my old friends from the scene reads this, feel free to e-mail me. It would be nice to catch up on the old days... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2003 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
