  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I can´t remember the exact year but i think it was about 1981.
I saw a special report in tv about a high-end computer from the NSA.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • It was about 1982 then i bought an atari 2600 to have fun with my friends.
We are playing games like "panzergeneral". 1983 comes my atari xl-800.
Some nice games but very slow in loading from datasette. So i spend my
money to buy the best homecomputer ever in 1984... the #C=64#. Yippy, more fun
with a lot of cool games. The diskdrive was very expensive, puh. Some friends
start a group called "TBC". Later we formed a new group called "ELICMA" and i
have found a handle for me. I took it from the cult-movies "nightmare" ("ON ELM
STREET"). We do some small releases and a lot of cracks. Many years later in
1988 i was working at a warehouse called "quelle" and i got the [amiga] 15%
cheaper with all extras, like monitor, ext. hd & diskdrive. This was the time
then i starting music and gfx. Cougar of Sanity was a good teacher in doing
some logos and fonts. We are working together on some gfx but the music was my
main subject. Prodigy and some other Bands has inspired me! So, in the beginning
i have produced - pop, rock, dance & hiphop - tracks for "ELICMA". A lot of
experiences later, i have changed my style in techno. This was the beginning
of "TECHNO" ("James Brown is Dead!"). My first album was finished in 1993. I
did some live-acts with "hardsequencer" and "randy" together. In 1995 i got my
first >PC<. Fact was, the "ProTracker" has only 4 channels and FastTracker got
more channels and a better music-quality for samples. This is why i changed to
    the PC-scene!

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I didn´t stop producing music but i start to swap with about 150 contacts.
I have released 50 utility & 150 demopacks for "ELICMA". A friend of mine
was a coder, he has code a bootblock-menu for me. I did the logo, font and music.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • ScreamTracker & ProTracker on AMIGA. FastTracker & MadTracker on PC.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I can´t remember it exactly, but i think it was "TITTE CUT".
    A very speedy song in a oldshool-frankfurt-style.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Oh, yes. A dance-house tune. It was horrible to make it. My sampler
on amiga was not the best and the quality sucks.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Style is different. The Melody is important! Dark of RED SECTOR has done a
very good track for the cebit-demo. It´s allways in my mind. Also the music
in the game "Shadow of the Beast" was great.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Yes, of cause. I finished 1997-1998 a CD under the name "cambodunum inc. project".
We are playing live with e-guitar and synths. Our sytle was like "future-techno".
After some live-acts, our singer has start a solo project called "banana peel buzz".
He changed the music-style into "punk-rock". I have start a solo project, too.
Under the name "cambodunum" i have released a new CD in 2001 with a lot of
    "drum´n´bass" remixes. Now, i´am working on a new (synth-techno) album for *2002*.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg, wave, midi, etc...?

  • Well, i use MIDI to control my extended devices, like synths & drumcomputer.
I hate doing music with "cubase". It is like a paint program and i must spend a lot
of time to fix the result. I like to sample stuff and playing with it, like a puzzle.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • I like -all- oldshool-tunes from the c=64 & amiga. No special favourite.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Why not! I have lost all my old tracks after a big hd-crash on my amiga.
Some of them are save on MC but at the moment i´am too busy to sample it.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • AK1200, Apoptygma Berzerk, Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Crystal Method, Photek,
Moloko, Covenant, Leftfield, U2, Underworld, Portishead, Fluke, Welle Erdball.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Friendship, a lot of fun & never get older!!!

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • After some years in SYMPATHY i joined NUANCE.
We are a demogroup and friendship is our rule.
I do music for our wild-demos and other productions, too.
