May 1978 I think that was in 1986 when my dad bought my first computer... an Amiga 500 - the good old one! For the first years I only played games like Giannasisters and so, but in 1990 I found that it makes me happier to produce music with the computer. In the early days with Protracker and SoundTracker, later with DigiBooster Pro and Fasttracker on my PeeCee ;) I own the following computers: Amiga 500 (1.5MB, PC-Card) Amiga 1200 (2MB/16MB, 340MB HD, 040CPU/050FPU, 16xCD-Drive) P1-60 (lame thing, but works as server between Amigas and PCs) P2-350MMX (64MB, 4.2GB HD, 3D-Card, add. 3Dfx-Card, TV-Card, ISDN) My old A500 is dead now I think. The A1200 one is still in use for music productions. Currently 'Land Of Genesis' Soundtrack for Darkage Software. The P60 works as server between my PCs an Amigas - with a changeable HD-device. The P2-350MMX is for music production and music post-production and for my work as a future Multimedia Producer. Hehe, nearly everyone in our family is engaged somewhere in the musicbussines. But I like music most since I can think!!! My favourites are D&B (like Prodigy, Shamen), Pop (like Sting, Depeche Mode) and Amient (like System7). Currently I'm using DigiBooster Pro on my Amiga1200 and Fasttracker2 or ModplugTracker on my PC. 'All My Senses' or 'Avenging Angel'... I don't know exactly!? 'From Outer Space' because of it's too much bassloops and many more ;) Next to the SoundFX I think it's more than 50 percent, because you hear something while you're playing. No normal computeruser thinks of the amount of coding done by a coder of a computergame/demo. Everyone is watching the graphics and listening to the music/sound! Yes, I'm still composing! For both, professional and leisure. I'm the musician of a small gamecompany located here in austria (Futureware 2001, specialised on PC and Linux) and Freelance for an italian gamecompany named Darkage Software. I'm also writing some songs only for me... to inspirate myself ;) I think MIDI is not very good, I won't use it. MP3 is the future... you can send it via internet to people located on the other side of earth! I'm using the well known format 'XM', but I always make harddisk-recordings of my XMs and save the songs as MP3! 'Avenging Angels' 'All My Senses' 'Fade Into Reality' 'War Machine' 'Skull Power' 'Project Space' I already have made some Audio-CDs, but only for me and some of my friends on CD-Rs! I'll be very happy, if someone is interested in my material to ban it on silver-CDs ;)) Savage Garden Jamiroquai Sting Bloodhound Gang ...and many others! Since I never owned an C64 I can't say anything about it. Amiga scene, yes... I have some contacts with several members of demogroups like TRSI, Action, DENS Design, Cryptoburners *g* or so, but nothing else. Not in the scene, but active for computergames I think! Greetings fly out to: Andrew Barnabas (ex-DENS Designer) Chris Huelsbeck (for beeing my hero all the time) Martin Iveson (for some good infos on samples) Michiel van den Bos (for sample support - thanx mate!) Bjorn Lynne (for checking some of my songs) BuZz and Zeg (for beeing good friends on IRC) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2001 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
