  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • i don't know it exactly somewhere in the beginnign of the 80s. a friend
of me had an atari 600 xl, then a c64.
i was grown up in a poor family and got a used sinclair ZX 81 from my
parents at x-mas. so i sold my large lego-collection
and bought one of the first a500. (i bought a c64 and a atari st later
    of historical reasons.)

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • a500, a1000, a1200, a2000, a4000 - i did nearly everything. gfx, sound,
coding and i was interested in using all kinds of
programs. i think that was the reason that got my job at the german
    print-magazine "Amiga Special" later.

today i am working under linux, windows and mac. i have severeal
machines, but it's not worth to tell about. - they have no soul like the
    amiga.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • i did music, gfx and tried coding. (i wasn't a good assembler coder but
i learned very much about computers. in these days
i've got more success writing webbased applications in php.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • i used the fasttracker and the soundtracker. my music was always on 4
    tracks.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • with none. i never thought that my modfiles would reach the targets i've
    set.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • yes, i remixed "No Limit" (2 Unlimited) in 2 hours. I hate remixing, it
was just to show a friend how simple music can be made.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • i have no idea how the tracks were called anymore. it's so long ago, i
don't remember. i've got other interests these days.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • no, i've got no time for it. i've released a track on a techno-sampler
together with a friend some years ago.
after that i didn't make music.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • things have changed. everything is developing forward including the way
you store music. mod-files are in my opinion pieces
of the past. midi, wave are not realy new, aren't they? you used them on
the amiga, too. AFAIK is wav the same as raw and midi
was used for tranfering and storing control-data. the atari st (which
launced before the amiga) had a midi-interface included.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • i liked the tracks from dr. awesome, the demo-tracks of sanity and
    spaceballs best very much.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • no. i haven't got the files anymore.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • i like electronic music. my favorite artiste are "josh wink" (his acid
house tracks) and "der dritte raum" ("die trommelmaschine").

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • the scene gave me a lot of experiences and interesting contacts in
    europe and the united states.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • no. but i've got still contact to some guys...

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • yes: Zycro, Maxwell, Acropole and all other which i met in the scene.
