Date of birth: 29 august 1974 I got my first computer somewhere in 1986. It was a SHARP with tapes and stuff. A friend wanted to sell it, and as a 11 year old boy you just got to have a computer. 8) After a while i sold this computer and bought an atari. That had to be around 1987. A few months i had pleasure from this computer but then i couldn't get any games anymore (think it died with the coming of the c=64). So again i sold a computer and bought a c=64 (like all my other friends did) I loved this computer, enough games, but especially demo's & music started to attract me. I think it was the year 1989 when a friend of mine told me about the amiga. That was the start of my musical/amiga experience. 8) Sharp. Sold to buy an atari Atari. Sold to buy a C=64 C=64. Sold to buy an Amiga No idea. I just started making music in 1989, and i got a lot of comments on my music from friends who also had amiga's. And they all pushed me to make more music. When i got my first amiga 500 years ago, soundtracker was THE music program. Later on names changed, noisetracker, startracker and finally PROtracker. And PROtracker 2.3b still is the music program i use mostly. (Sorry no digibooster, Octamed for me!) But the last year i also got to know THX soundsystem by Abyss. Which gave me the creeps again 8-) The C=64 sound returned (never tried Future composer, SID etc) So the main 2 programs i use nowadays are PROtracker & THX. I think i reached my goal years ago. Just making some modules and spread them, so the whole wide world would hear my tunes. I think i improved with making music from 1994 untill now. So my 1989-1993 period was just to get into it. Didn't control PROtracker yet, didn't know what all the cmd's where for. Very important. It has to be in the correct way. Combining a happy demo with a techno tune isn't really right. Also a 'Today's demo' with a chiptune doesn't really do it. So it all has to fit, with gfx, with effects, with design. Sure am. Only for leisure purpose. In real life i am a cook. (Probably the only cook in whole amigascene) 8) I enjoy making music, never got any lessons, never learned to play a guitar, or play the keyboard, i can not even read notes.. Now that is strange eh? 8) But i come from a musical family. So thats probably why i got interested in music. I don't really care about that. As i don't own a pc, mp3 doesn't really hit me. (mp3 is also too slow on my amiga 030/28mhz) Midi is fun. I have about 800 midi files on my amiga, but only listen them once in a while. Never tried to make midi myself, bars&pipes looked way to difficult. 8) I can't really tell you names of modules. I think every composer i know have made some good modules. I have been thinking of that yes. Maybe not with keyboards and stuff but with some echo equipment & an equalizer i could get the output just right. It's a very nice way to keep your music in your life, if you are too old for the scene. I have a very large taste. That goes from level42 (funk), Brand New Heavies (Acidjazz), Adam-F/Roni size (jungle) to The Prodigy, Chemical Bros, Bjork etc.. I seem to like all styles, but my main style on amiga still is funk/jazz tunes. It gave me the first scene vibes. I really hate it that i sold my C=64 years ago because at parties the C=64 is coming back. We maybe could have been an C=64 group too. Still am. Check diskmags for my tunes. Also with my group we are working on several projects. And for tunes from me check Aminet: mods/pdy (Mods will soon be there or are already. check it out.) I would just like to say to all amiga musicians to keep on working on those tunes. Amiga might be dead on commercial ground but scene CAN'T die if you continue making music/demo's & other productions. Keeping it alive. Keeping it our amiga scene. Amiga scene CAN'T die unless YOU want it to.
