    Handle: Razta2000 (or Rastaman...)

Group: Independent (want to have my music? get in touch!)

Date of birth: 21st July 1976

  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • hmmm, I guess it was way back in the 80's when I had my first Commodore
64... That was just for playing, but I got interested in computers at that
very moment when I had my first machine!!!

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • At first I had a simple 'basic 2000', but it's not worth mentioning. Then I
had a C64 and then in 1989 I had my precious Amiga 500... At first I just
played with it, but then I saw the legendary Red Sector megademo and I got
interested in the scene. Actually I had my first real contact to the scene
when I got few issues of Zine (a really cool diskmag at that time) and sum
    eurochart-issues... Later in the 90's I got myself a A1200 (I still have it
somewhere....) and now I've got a PC....

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • hmmm, propably b'coz I got soundtracker before I got Deluxe Paint... heh,
and I always had a casio keyboard home and music is rather interesting......

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Mostly it's been protracker,(or hearttracker, it was a special melon-edition
of the normal PT that I used most of the time!) I tried other progs, but
they just didn't feel like the same.... Now-a-days I'm using Fasttracker on
my pc... I tried the other trackerprograms, but this fasttracker 2 is cool.
It's user-interface reminds and feels just like protracker. The other
windows-based trackers really suck! I hate windows, it's too complex to
    modify!!!!

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Who said I have reached my goal? Actually I'm not satisfied with any of my
tunes so far, but I guess it's musicians common problem... When I've made a
tune I'm so bored of it that it sounds like shit....

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For What reason?

  • Actually, no... Tracking is such a pleasure every time that I don't have bad
memories. And every time I make music I learn something new.....

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • hmmm, I don't know if you mean the moneyvalue or something else, but I've
got no experience in making game-music... I feel that I have the talent of
making gamemusic, but I've had no offers yet... But, who knows? Maybe some
day I'll end up making gamemusic.... At least it sounds very interesting....

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Yep, I started composing again now that I got myself a pc and more than 4
channels!!! Actually I'm very active at the moment, but I've got no group,
so no-one publishes my tunes. I've been planning a cd, but it's still VERY
unfinished. Mostly I play and compose for leisure purposes..... :)

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • hmmm, I haven't been looking at 'em since my PC is just a 486... Midi is
    cool, I've got a roland MC303 Groovebox and Quasimidi's Rave-o-Lution 309
equipped with a midi-keyboard at home, so I dig the midi... Wave's take a
lot of HD-space, I only use it as my sample-format....

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • As an old scener I liked the work of guys like Heatbeat, dizzy,
Nuke(spaceman), Audiomonster (he made wonders with badly looped samplez!)
and many others that I can't remember right now... It's a strange thing that
pc seems to lack good and innovative musicians... Is it just b'coz techno is
so in, or have people lost their touch???? My personal fav in pc is
Dune/Orange, but maybe it's b'coz I knew him so well in my scene-years....

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Yep, I've got plans..... My idea is to have a cd out this summer, but maybe
    it's just a single now.....

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Ozric tentacles, Kingston Wall, Moby, Cypress Hill and many others... I
don't listen to any particular music, just music that sounds great.... And I
    DON'T listen bubblegum-techno!!!!!!

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • I've got a lot of good memories, nice experiences from parties (assembly's
1992-1996 were nice! and The party 3 kicked ass!) scene-friends disappeared
in some point which is a shame... Now I'm studying computers, so I guess the
scene thought me for my future-job... :)

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Yep, or at least I'm trying.. But it just doesn't feel the same anymore....
But maybe some day you'll hear my music in sum scene-productions... Remains
    to be seen....

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Hmmm, greets to all my old and new scene-friends... Specials go to the guys
of Sonik Clique, Cncd and all of the masturboys-posse!!!! :) We had a great
time way back then....! greetlists are boring, so I won't give here hundreds
of names, enjoy life, smile, and have a mental hangover....... Feel
free to get in touch: [email protected] I'll make a tune for your
product that blasts your mind free...... :)
