  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • Errr, it started when I saw the first friend to receive one. It must have
    been in... Uhm.
1985 or so. It was a C16 btw.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • I had an A500 which now is in the hands of my girlfriend who does some gfx
    and texts on it.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Talent maybe? Actually I have been doing music together with a friend since
I was 14 and when I got my A500 and found out that there is a possibility
to do music with it, it was the obvious path for me to follow.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Well, the normal trackers: The ultimate Soundtracker V1.0 (Yes!),
Noisetracker (various volumes), Protracker (various volumes). Nowadays
Protracker V3.62 as V4 fucks the timing up on my configuration.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • None surely. If I would have been that selfsatisfied ever, I would have
    stopped tracking immediately.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For What reason?

  • No, in the long run I have come to a stage of insight that makes me
understand that even miserable creations of mine are a part of my personal
evolution. There certainly are tunes which I feel bad about, but still I
tend to listen to them every two years and have a good laugh on them.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Watch a thriller movie and you know how important soundeffects and music
can be if you take a good use of them. The point is that music can create
emotions which you elsewise rarely will be able to create by just gfx and
screenplay. The sound doesn't decide wether a game/movie is good or not,
but it decides if you reach your audience with your production.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • I am for semi-professional purposes, I'd say. This means my music project
called "Psycore" is just about to release its first promotion cd. If we get
the feedback, this might become professional, but with the market in the
eye I must confess I don't see myself with much airplay.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • To say that Midi is a new format must be some kind of misinformation, or?
Midi is much older than any Trackerformat (1984?). Midi is outdated and
needs to be replaced by some new standard badly (16 channels, my arse).
Wava and Mpeg or whatever other sample format there might be do not feature
any particular advantage in my eye. The only thing that is Trackerrelevant
is a 24bit standard featuring freely adjustable compression rates, which
includes no compression for professional works.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Tracker: Space Deliria/Dr.Awesome, B.S.T./Bruno, Cyberride/Jester, Feel the
    Vibes/Parsec

Records: Quite too many to mention.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Not only remastered but completely reworked in our studio. Tracker to Midi,
the real way. This also means we don't use any drumloops anymore.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Strange enough Bad Religion although I am doing Electronica.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Egostimulation, nostalgia, motivation, fun, oddities, inspiration, ...
    short: It's the ideal hobby.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Sure, I am still the maineditor for Generation and I am organiser of
Endzeit, after Artwork died in early April 1998. I am also doing some
musics for the group, but other are more ambitious there, so what the heck.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Read more Generation!
