Interview
`n. .rP' `qb ,dP' TLb. ,dMP' all rite, now you get the chance to read TML.dMMP some facts about some of the major amiga ,nmm`XXMPX musicians. read about their history in ,#MP'~~XNXYNXTb. the scene and their plans in future.yes, ,d~' dNNP `YNTb. that's meant to be read while listening to ,~ ,NN' `YNb their modules. read 'em over and over and over.. dNP `Yb. ,NN' `b. · i n t e r v i e w · ___________ ______dP _____________ \ / \ ,N'\____ _____________. _____ \ \_____. ____\ / \___P___/ .\--\__ __/__ |--\____)---\ _____/__ |--\_ \ _/ | | | \ | | \__| | _ \ / | \__| | /\ | | _| | | _l_ | | \ / _l_ | ___| l___/=l___|====l____/===\______|==l______|\ /l___/===\______l____/ \/ Handle: Saul Cross Group: Simple-Media Date of birth: january 6th 1969 We got a commodore pet when I was very small and I loved to play space invaders on it - that was about 1978 Commodore Vic20, C64, Amiga 500 and Amiga 1200 I did graphics as well and produced graphics for a few games and demos although not much got released, but I always loved music so I did a few tunes for demos and some game soundtracks, I can't remember what made it out into the world, killing machine did, I also did sountracks for Knights of Legend and an unreleased Nightbreed spin-off game, plus a conversion of Double Dragon, other tunes were sent on disk to PD librbaries but I am not sure what survived - I have some on my site, anyway, I loved the ease of composing on things like rock monitor and protracker so that got me hooked I now use cubase, orion platinum and occasionally buzz tracker (buzz tracker is cool as f**k) Knights of Legend was my favourite but I lost it and a set of modules called highly improbable 1,2 and 3 lost as well - if anybody has copies of any of them out in the world please send them hihi Yeah, the title tune from killing machine, it's just too damn fussy Music can convey feeling that can't be expressed any other way, it can give pace and tempo and it can just be the icing on the cake Don't really get enough time to write much but I work on vst instruments and I still write music for leasure when i can. I think the technology has come on a long way, but I think some of the challenge has been lost, like trying to make four voices sound like a 40 Tim follin's Ghouls'n'Ghosts soundtrack (amiga and c64), Turrican 2, Master of Magic and the soundtrack to the produkkt (farbrauch) not at present - no demand all sorts of stuff but top of the list are Pet Shop Boys, the Divine Comedy, Frou Frou, Kaiser Chiefs and Coldplay and always the Art of Noise a way to make music that was accessible only as an observer and with a couple of remixes on RKO (c64 remix site) Well Greetings to everybody really and keep up the good work ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2006 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
