  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I would guess around early 80's i think. First had a commodore 16,
then moved on to a commodore 64 old style, then c64 new style,
then amiga sometime around 1991. I seem to remember wanting
to play computer games, I cant remember anything specific, but
was very happy the christmas me and my brother got the c16.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • As above, c16,2 x c64, then amiga. Mostly playing games, alittle programming.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Well, I tried making gfx around the first year of having my amiga, and just before that
i tried coding on the c64 which went well, but with getting the amiga it went out
the window. After being told by friends i 'wasnt very good' , i moved over to music.
Which also gave responses of 'not very good', but around 1992-1993, i slowly
moved away from those people, and kept to myself, continuing to make my music.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • I maybe started with soundtracker, but most of my stuff was made with protracker on the amiga.
more recently, ive been using reason3, for the pure reason (?) that im comfortable with
    it.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Not sure really, i made some dire stuff in my first year or so of composing from 1991.
By 1993 to 1994, I was much better at it than i thought I was going to be. Looking
back now, and listening to some of the music I have refound on AMP, alot of what
i made was average at best. Although I have found some that I really liked. If I was to
guess, my first couple of peices i remember being proud of were dancy thang, and
afternoon break, funky times (altho im sure it was called something else before i found
it on amp) .which all havent stood time too well, but I still like them , and a couple
    of others I made.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • I have vague memories of a tune i did just after i got my amiga, which
i *think* was called orgasmotron. i dont even think it exists anywhere,
but it caused much laughter with friends. As for music i know of that
was released, i think the one id most like to forget would be,.erm,. cant
think of one really ! they all have their novelty value :)

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • It enhances the visuals, gives you a sense of what is happening, and helps
tell the 'story' of the demo. And well, a demo without music would be boring :)

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • More for personal reasons to be honest. I did some work for a friend in the
u.s who has an online business starting up, all to do with waste management etc.
Anyhow, his system is taking off really well, and where I came in was,
he had to send demo cd's to all the states people and such around the place,
demonstrating what his companies system could do, hence I got to do the
background music and button clicks and blips :)

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Midi is still rubbish for the most part, altho getting music in mpg format is
    in recent years, wonderful.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • I liked quite a mix of music is hard to remember them really. I have a few in my
head that i remember, but cant remember who made them or what they were called,
There was one by 4mat i seem to remember really liking. maybe i should look through
your website alittle more and find them :)

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • No. Ive played around putting my recent music to cd, but I have no plans
    on taking it further.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Audioslave, Radiohead, Coldplay, Led zeppelin. And many others.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Something to do ! I spent many many house making music,. sampling sounds,
and writing to people and friends about the place. It was a good
    laugh while it lasted.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No, think I sold my amiga around the end or beginning of 94/95.
I did get a pc in 98 and had one since, but havent continued in the scene though.
I have none of my original friends or contacts in touch with me either.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Anyone i used to know really ! if they are still out there and remember
talking to me back then !
