This "fantastic" machine was later updated to a Commodore 128D, then finally an Amiga 500. Commodore 64, Commodore 128D My father is a hobby-musician/composer so he had alot of instruments lying around. Keyboards, synthesizers, guitars etc. When I got my Commodore 64, I fell in love with the chip-music, but never got the hang of making those tunes, but when I got my Amiga 500 I made my first tune (named Yeashmure, for some reason) 2 weeks afterwards. From there on, I was hooked (although sadly not very talented). On the Amiga, I used ProTracker, SoundTracker, and some other trackers I no longer remember the names of. On the PC, I've done some stuff on the ScreamTracker, and most recently with Buzz and Reason. None, really. I feel all my tunes were just me experimenting with the variables and effects, so I never really got to the point where I was ready to make real music, but my favorite module was one called "Øygunn's Theme". An extremely simple and repetetive song made as a "tribute" to a girl I was in love with at the time. Many, many, many. Luckily I don't remember the names. To me it's extremely important to set the mood, heighten the experience, and underline the visual aspect of it. I sometimes do, but rarely, and for my own ears/pleasure only. Midi is usually aweful, in my opinion, but there are alot of interesting stuff. For example Buzz. I was a big fan of 4Mat's tunes, but I don't remember too many names. Absolutely not! Hehe, I'm not at all my biggest fan. Radiohead, Aphex Twin, Autechre, Explosions In The Sky, and many more. Alot of fun and new friends, and the occational party. Went to one of the first The Gatherings. No. If anyone from good ol' Paragon is reading this, feel free to drop me a line :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2002 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
