I've always thought it great that you can actually create something of your own with 'puters, I wanted to be a coder or gfx'er, but I was too dumb, and my drawing sucked knads, so I became a musician. Commodore 64 - I played Great Giana Sisters and Last Ninja, and made stupid little Basic programs. Oh, I explained it up there... Soundtracker, Noisetracker, Protracker and Fasttracker for PC. No I use Reason 2, Cubase SX and SoundForge Hmm... Module, haven't heard that name in so long.. I think maybe some of my chiptunes, and one called Monolog (or something) I think was pretty fun. I don't actually have any of my tunes anymore, so it's hard for me to say at this point... Sorry. I don't think so, they all represent one level or era or whatever, and I just hope there is some progression in the quality and that it wasn't all shit. It depends. When playing stuff like Day Of Defeat etc I don't want any music to disturb me, but the sounds are important. In a demo I think it's like with a film, the music and sound has such a hughe impact when it comes to set a mood - look at JAWS, what would it be without the soundtrack, for instance. I am, but not for "the scene" - I produce and DJ for/in clubs and festivals etc. As a DJ i prefer vinyl, but I think the whole MP3 thing is good, since it allows me to get fresh tunes from other DJs quickly and without the hassle of snail-mail. Also I like the fact that I can grab a new tune I just bought or got sent on promo, and edit it to my likings, then burn it out on CD and drop it in the club at night. Oh, and even better, I can burn my own tunes out, and drop them at the crowds, which is a great feeling (if the tune works) - On the other hand, I used to program my modules with loads and loads of codes in them, sometimes making them go backwards etc, I wanted my modules to show that I put some effort into them. I kinda miss that... Are we talking modules here? In that case I guess it had to be that chiptune "Rebels" by 4mat. None module tunes... hmmm... there's so much... these are among them atleast: "Summerbreeze" - Isley Brothers I assume now that we are talking modules, and thus the anwser would be no. Mate, I'm a DJ I listen to so much... Olav Brekke Mathisen and Sideshow Jøgge is a big hit here though, oh, and did I mention DJ Gregory? Almost anything by The KLF (more for nostalgic reasons though) "Plastic Dreams" (the original) - Jaydee "Ye Ke Ye Ke" (Both the original rmx and the hardfloor remix) - Mory Kante and so much more... My top tunes in 2003 must be; "Soliders" - DJ Gregory (absolutely stunning) and "Heartbeat" - Martin Solveig oh, but there is so much more... good year for music, it was! It gave me a startingpoint and an interest in music and music production, and it gave me some great times, good friends, and I think it gave me a drive to try and become "more" or "better" (since there was that whole "status thing" in being in the good groups etc) - and furthermore it gave me something to dedicate my time to when I was growing up. no, I don't know anything about the scene at the moment, and I guess no-one knows who I am anymore either. I can imagine that peeps are turning out some pretty great looking and sounding demos at the mo' though. I might drop by one of the big parties at some point and see what it's like, allthough I probably wouldn't even understand the lingo that peeps use today... Damn, I wanna give love to everyone from back in a day. If there is any chance of them reading this. The Spaceballs people, Andromeda, Scoopex peeps (crazy they were), to Snuffy (obviously), Grey, Size, Carsten (what the fuck was your handle again?), Haakon, Totto, and all the old crews... I can't remember any names at the moment, but thanks to all of you who worked your asses off to make the scene a fun place, and I still think the tune that won the TG compo where I came almost last (I think I only beat Lizardking), I still think the tune that won eats crap. But hey, that's life... And I wanna salute all of you who keep the scene alive by making music, drawing gfx and programming demos. Oh, one thing I never got though is that "music video ripping scene" - peeps putting their crew name on some music video that they ripped... what the fuck is that? I'm not taking no credz for a tune I mp3ed (I guess there is a scene for that as well) - you know what we said; if you ain't got no talent, becomme a swapper (I guess that would be a trader or something today) ... hehe... sorry for that, no dis intended.
