Alpha Flight, Strangers Date of birth: 1975 Well, I got an MSX-728 at age 12 (yes, it's true - I've never owned an Commodore 64 :). After a few years, I got myself an Amiga 500, since I was so impressed by the machine some of my friends bought. Actually, I think it was the "game over"-graphics in some game that made me realise that I just had to have one. As said, an MSX-728, which I spent 2 months programming BASIC on, since the tape drive was defect on delivery. Today I make a living as a programmer, but I never really did any serious programming on the Amiga. I actually did my share of graphics (fonts, mostly), but music has always been a part of my life, and after discovering Noise Tracker I realised what I did best). On the Amiga - pretty much every tracker. Nowadays it's mostly Logic and Reason. Actually, with "Morotslandet", that I and El-debatt made for a party I can't remember the name of. Although we didn't win, it feels closest to what my goals were at the time. I have a so called "hate/love" relationship with "Joystickstepparn" (The Joystick Tap Dancer), which I'm sure not more than 20 people have in possession :) A good tune makes the game, and a bad tune breaks it. Same as movie sound tracks... Yes I am, though I'm currently not making any money out of it. I hope it's temporary though :) Since I'm not active in the scene anymore, I can't tell how the musicians and music compos has evolved (I hear they have MP3 compos these days?), but as for the formats themselves, I must say that mpeg has made me buy more albums than before (contrary to what the music industry believes). There are so many... :) "Banana Split" by Dizzy is my all-time high, although "Enigma" by Tip/Firefox, "Occ-San-Geen" by Uncle Tom, "Scrambled Mind" by Heatbeat and "Blind Intro" by Lizardking are strong contenders for second place. As for third place, I'm sure there are a hundred or more... I'd sure like to, but the most of my works (except for the ones rescued by you guys!) are lost forever :( Pretty much anything I consider good music. I've never really followed a particular genre, although this does not mean I'm not choosy. But, what a heck - currently spinning: S:t Germain, Saian Supa Crew and Barry White :) Everything I do today, which is music in my spare time, and making a livi ng as a programmer/designer at work. Plus a lot of friends and tons of go od memories. Sadly not, although I've found something similar in the Counter-Strike co mmunity (feel free to visit http://www.tlb.nu, and be sure to send [TLB]J yrx a kind word or two... :) AMP for existing. You cannot belive the chills I got down my spine when I stumbled upon the site... go go go! All old LED-fellows for everything we accomplished! All sceners from the time I was active, for giving me the time of my life ! Thanks for AMP. I'm still in a state of shock :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2001 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
