I started with a C-64 for gaming and a bit lazy coding in basic and later on in assembler but the computermusic got me bounded when I saw the soundmonitor from Hülsbeck the first time. Later on I got the A500, A1200, A4000T (sold) for my MOD-experiences which started in 1986/87. In the late 90s I couldn't go around a pc cause the SBLive Soundcard was so good I started to go from Amiga Octamed SoundStudio to PC Soundfonts. Hmm, good question. I rather like making music than coding stuff or making gfx. and the biggest point will be that i'm worse in coding and computerGFX, or should I better say i'm not so worse in music like in other things. My ears can influence my eyes and my mind but not vise versa.;) On the Amiga I tried out several Soundtrackers, Sidmon, TFMX, MusicLine, Oktalyzer, Startrekker, Noisetracker and most of all I used Protracker and in the late 90s it was OctaMED Sound Studio. On the C64 I started with some kind of Music Maker, but shortly after that the Soundmonitor was released which I typed in byte by byte from a german Paper-Mag. Later on there were Rock & Beatmonitor and at the end of the C64-time in 1989 the FutureComposer. With my abilities I won't be able to reach my goal ever but the following are my personal Amiga favs. "Promises at Sea", "Nineteen-Ninety", "In The Orbit", "Das Leben einer Waldmaus", "God at Work", "Sternenstaub" and "Midnight Summer" which has not been finished :( Hmm. hard to say. Once I made soundtracks for an amateur-war-video and the mods are so worse. But in general I dont know any mod I cant explain :) Music in Games is most important. Without any sound it is like watching some fotos of a game instead of playing it and the music itself must have a recognizable theme within so anyone can tell which game had which music. Indeed I never stopped composing and I learned much in the past 20 Years. No professional music from my site, only for fun and mostly to defrustrate my mind. But no Mods or Midi, only my Synth and my Guitars. you can find my music on several Portals. Sharing Mood Music means much to me when someone writes a comment. by the way I wrote an intro and outro for "Decision to Hate" that should be semipro :) It is the simplest way to spread music as mpeg. MIDI is a hard thing to make. I only know 2 or 3 people who really know how to compose a MIDI-File that sounds great wherever you play it. Personally I prefer mpeg because you store all the sound you hear in it and are not bound in any way or size. Hard to say some names here. The Guitarslinger from Jogeir Liljedahl sure is the best I heard as a 4-channel-Mod. I already made 4 CD's. The first one "Shared Dreams" has 9 MODs and 4 OctaMED-Songs on it. The Second "Split Mind" has 6 MODS, 5 OctaMEDS and 2 PC-Songs on it. The third "Backslide" only has 1 MOD and 10 PC-Songs. but the 4th "Lieder aus dem Brotkasten" has 22 of my C64-Songs which I had to record from tape so they are secured on CD. A few of my MODS have been converted in pieces to my PC with other sounds but none of this tunes has reached the final status. Van Halen, Decision to Hate, Devin Townsend, Destruction, Aardvarks, Brainstorm, ACDC, KHT (Karl Heinz Thiel), but mostly to my own stuff as you can see in my last.fm profile but that only counts for MP3. All the gigs I go to are Metal-Gigs (Death/Thrash). The C64-Scene gave me new friends and the ability of logical thinking through programming. The Amiga-Scene gave me tons of demos that I watched over and over again. At the end I was hired as a IT-professional and many things from the Amiga helped me out on problems with Linux :) No, not in the normal scene but in the music-scene online and offline. Yes greetings like in demos some days ago must go to the formerly Groupmember from TGT Destinator/Panic (RIP), Jugger/Panic, Lynxx/Panic All Bottles Ahead :) , Link of Charge, Art-Explorer, Mr. Hyde, Shark oh that is all I remember for now. Well I hope someone really has the ambishion to listen to ALL of my mods :) that would make him as weird as I am.
