I instantly felt that it was something I enjoyed, I mean the sqirky sounds of mario jumping after muchrooms and coins. In my family my mother's cool cousin came home with an old computer that was trown out from his job for some reason. If I remember correctly it was an 286-pc, brand nokia and a monochrome monitor with 16 shades of grey. My friends were at the time browsing bbs:es with their pc's and amiga boxes, and I downloaded all my favourite songs via my 14k4 baud modem. As I recently mentioned I had a Nokia computer! Well, I had all kinds of computers and parts lying around in my room at that time, and every month I had built a new computer. Because the first thing I knew about doing was tracking music, rather than using the computer to make programs. I remember my friend booting up this strange program called fasttracker. I was scared of how many things you could do with this "thing" :) But the first tracker I knew about was the protracker on the amiga. I was fourteen years old then when I was first introduced to the mod-format. Fasttracker 2 has been my main composing program. It has always felt right for me. But I have been composing on the most tracker programs available. I haven't reached my goal yet, but.. when I won with my first released song "Back to the chipland" at the Remedy 98 demoparty in Solna, Sweden I knew that composing chipmusic was something I could continue doing. Haha. Well, when I did a tune called "pedo pippi" I think i was drunk and...Now it's out there in cyberspace for everyone to hear. Maybe not my proudest achievement amongst others. Music is 50% in a demo. The music builds up the feeling of what's happening on the screen. In a game the graphics does not always matter that much when it's a good game. The music and sound fx is always important. Today I'm mostly a producer and song writer. Mainly professionally. The mod format are always going to be the best and most interesting format for music on computers. It's so well developed, established and free. That's why. All lizardking modules. One tune is cp.mod by an unknown composer from the Pool Position 97' party (Very hard to find since the organizers of the party didn't release it on their website). Pool of Poison by Wave, Dead Lock by Elwood. Skaven's Second Reality tune is also an favorite and many many more... Yes and I'm gonna sell it cheap :P U2 among others. A life and pale skin. No I can't say that. But I'm always following what's happening in the scene and visit a couple of parties every year. I want to thank all my friends trough the years that I met while I was active in the scene. Without them I wouldn't even write this interview. You all know who you are. Well Seffy where the hell are ya? I owe you a coule of danish beers :P ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2006 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
