    Group: Triflex

    Date of birth: 25.04.1975

  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • When I was 6 years old and visited my aunt and uncle in the US. They had one
of the first Atari gameconsoles (model 2600 I think..)

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Around 1985 when I was 10 years old, I got my hands on the fabolous Commodore64.
After playing around for about a year, I got my 1541 diskdrive - and I saw some
of the first demos. I started my own group, "Lynsoft". As always pretty lame..
but hey, you have to start somewhere :o) Later I started Science 551 - pretty
lame too, as the swedish Science 451 was pretty popular. I changed the name to
Danish Science, which became a quite well known group with nice cracks and
pretty nice demos. I was mainly the leader, graphician, cracker and swapper
for Danish Science. I did some little coding aswell. Members from well known
groups joined during the last days (Dominators, Flash Inc., Errors, Shape and
Tera Australia) and we released some demos - the most known must certainly be
    "Lost Dreams" and "Cute'n'Cuddly"

During 1989 I got my hands on the Amiga 500. I started the group Triflex,
which also became quite well known - especially when we merged together with
the great group Addonic in the beginning of the 90'ies. On the Amiga I made
graphics, music, swapped and tried learn some coding - but never really got
    into it.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Well, actually I made both gfx + music. I felt very creative with the Amiga -
and the way to compose on the Amiga was really great. One of my friends also
tracked alot, so it felt natural to compose and try to make it even better
    module by module..

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Soundtracker.. and ofcourse Protracker when it was released!

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Two of them.. Digital Obsession and HeartDuty. Two very different tunes...
Digital Obsession with lots of synth, HeartDuty is very heavy-metal style.
Heavyfreaks I played it for really loved it...

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Some of my first ones.. :o) Sounds really terrible.. hehe..

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • It means everything! If you release a demo/game with bad music, you often turn
down the volume, and the special feeling of the product feels worse. If the
music fits, and everything becomes one.. you feel as a part of the demo/game.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • It happens that I still load Protracker and try composing. I lost the feel a
bit.. After I switched to Amiga 1200, and today Amiga 4000, I had problems
using Protracker. There is some problem with the keyboard timings which makes
it not work like on the good old A500. I bought a used Amiga 2000 now, in the
hope that I can play around in Protracker some day again...

Everything is only for pure pleasure and leasure...

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Nothing beats the SID tune of the C64.. nothing beats the feel of true Amiga
modules! MPEG, WAVE, MP3 is great for real music - but when it comes to
computer music... I dont consider MIDI to be one of them.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • There is so many! But I will always remember "Kliche paa Kliche" by Heatbeat
of Cryptoburners. The tune used in "The Hunt For The 7th October". It is
really one of the best ever! Also I love music by Chorus+Sid, Laxity, Jester,
Jorgeir Liljedahl etc. Hard to find favourites...

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • No, not really. I have thought about remastering one or two pieces to new
formats, if/when I get the time and feel for it.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • DJ Encore, Clawfinger, Bad Religion, Jean Michel Jarre, Enigma..

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Everything about computing and life... It ment so much to me! I had dozens of
friends all over the world, which made everyday something special. That special
feeling when you received a new package with disks and a personal letter was
    one of the best...

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Not really. I try to follow what is going on, but I am not involved into any
scene work. I prefer the old C64 + Amiga scene, as I dont think the PC scene
will never ever be like the ones back then. Actually I think that the C64
scene was the best ever - the Amiga scene became better a 1-2 years before
the bankruptcy of Commodore.. but after the bankruptcy I feel that lots of
people and groups just faded away..

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Enzo/ex-Prestige: R.I.P. my great friend... I will miss you forever!

Wiz/ex-Triflex/Vendetta/Vixen: I will never forget those great C64+Amiga times
we had - I am happy to have you as a personal friend after all these years!

Dune/ex-Triflex/Success/Tech: Daniel - even though we lost contact..
you were one of the most talented graphicians I've ever known! Miss you...

Shogun/ex-Pride/Knickers: Jimmy - I still remember our great C64 times.
Eventhough I havent heard from you for years.. I hope you see this and remember
    the good times!

Darkcave/ex-Addonic: Still a great contact of mine... we certainly had some
    great days!

    Mr.Chain/ex-Flash Inc./Red Line/Danish Science/Triflex: Lost Dreams II was never
released.. but as always.. see u l8r alligator, or was it a hamster?

Nex/Triflex: My dear co-sysop... so happy to know you!

Xman/Triflex: We certainly ruled the trader scene back in the 90'iees..
[Zarch+Xman] - the dynamic duo! Damn those were the days, couz!

Perrotech/ex-Triflex: My dear neighbour, whom I played around with on the
C64+Amiga with for years.. our dreams became true! I still can beat you in
    Nemesis.. hehe..

Hitrax/ex-Triflex: My dear composing classmate.. hope you are doing better these
    days :o/

Jensen/ex-Impulse: Always great stories about girls you and I did.. damn we had
some great times - thanks for all those super phonecalls!

Detch/ex-Vector/Daniax: Again a lost contact - but I will never forget you
Klaus. You really had the brains to learn coding within days.. I'm still
    impressed!

.. and to all the rest of my former contacts, friends, scene mates.. You will
never be forgotten, and always be on my mind!

Remember: They can try to take away the scene, C64 and Amigas from us - but they
will always be a part of us no matter what...
