  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • This was the begining of computers and anything you could do with them,
except coding, interested me : graphics, musics, demos, games.

I don't recall which year that was.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • ZX81 (mainly playing coding basic) ;^)
    Vectrex (for gaming)
    VIC20 (gaming and doing graphics)
Atari 520 STF (mainly graphics and gaming)
Amiga 500 (starting serious business, I tried a bit of everything)
Amiga 1200 (kept on doing that, later I gave it a 68020)
Pentium 133 (you know it's pc)
PentiumII 300 (fast gfx hardware, great!)
    Athlon 800 (...)
    AthlonXP 2400+ (today's machine)

It's impossible to list all what I have been doing with computers. One would
fall asleep! I have been using computers for the last 20 years!

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Well now I can mention what I have done: I am a Graphician but sometimes
I like to have fun composing musics. Nowadays I am working as graphic
    artist.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • SoundTracker 2.4 (Atari)
    ProTracker 3.xx (Amiga)

I am pretty likely to start composing again! I also found the version 2004 of
Protracker (http://www.kiritsu.com/protracker). I hope it ends somewhere!

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Never! I prefer some but I don't really consider myself a musician!

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Yeps, I have made a lot of previews. I can mention a mod called "NulAChier.mod"
which basically means "it sucks" and that one will never leave my home!

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • I can say:

    Demo : 50/60%
a great demo (visuals) with a music that sucks looses of its interest!
On the other hand a great tune with bad visuals will tend to make it a
better demo. Won't make it a hit though!

    Game : 20%
In games, music only is bonus and not something essential! The sound
effects are more important than the music itself!

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • I must say that no!
I have more or less quit from composing when I started working with graphics.
I am still having interest for music but I don't spend weeks with it!
I don't feel that I am as talented with composing as I am doing GFX.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • It mainly depends on the composer rather than the sound format! A good musician
can create a fantastic track with basic midi (I have heard some!)
I can only mention that nowadays there are thousands of possibilities of creation!
Like with MPeg by example. Beyond the problem of format, the point is to
have a universal standard. Nowadays musics are one hundred per cent digital!

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • When using my amiga, I had collected a huge amount of modules, I can
mention those who I really liked most:
    4Mat - Dizzy - Audiomonster - Bruno - Dr-Awesome - Dreamer - Groo - HeatBeat -
    Jogeir Liljedahl - Laxity - LizardKing - Moby - Nuke - Reflex - Virgill

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Nope, the limitations of amiga (4 channels) would make it too hard to do
a remake. My tunes are not worth wasting a lot of spare time.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Groove salad ( Winamp streaming radio )

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Nope but I miss it a bit. That's why I release some oldschool flash
    animations (http://come.to/zoon/anim/zoom02.html)

I follow the scene evolution and I must say that I am really impressed by
the quality of productions coming from groups such as Farb-Rausch. Pure
enjoyment! Though I am not too fan of their tunes!

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • I take the opportunity to send my greetings to all my contacts. I was an
active swapper you know, so I will avoid listing all of them. Hello to
all RTEL friend and to all members of Silicon!

I hope I answered correctly to all the questions as I was mainly known for
    my GFX.

Last but not least, thanx to Crown of Cryptoburners for the chance he gave me
to go back to 8bit nostalgy land. :)
