  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • In 1980 my dad would bring home a Vic-20 from work, and I'd do some basic on
    it and play games.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • C-64, and an Amiga 500 and 1000 different than the ones I currently have.
My mom made me sell the C-64 before I could get an Amiga (the 500) then 2
weeks later someone offered a sweet deal on an A1000 upgraded and with
loads of software, so I got that and trade the A500 for a bunch of baseball
cards. That 1000 I sold to a friend after I got an A1200, and have kept
    all Amigas since.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Well, I haven't the patience for coding, but I do alot of graphics as well.
I guess I'm left brained and enjoy all creative endeavors. I had much
grander plans for music writing than the few mods I did, but as college
ended, real life got in the way.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • I actually used Octa-Med most of the time, although my first composing was
done in Deluxe Music with the SMUS format. Now I have a midi setup on my
A1200 with a keyboard and Bars & Pipes.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I don't think I ever reached my goals, but the best mod I think I've done
that was original was the Mekton Theme, which was done as a theme song to a
    BBS based RPG.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • There's lots of them, and no one will ever see them! ;)

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • I think all audio, music and sfx, are very important not just in demos and
games, but movies and television. Nothing sets a mood wether scary or
touching better than well composed background music.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • I tried dabbling in some PC programs to lay down some new techno tracks last
year for the fun of it, but I don't know if was me or the crappy Windoze
software that prevented it from working out at all.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I think mpeg is a great way to be able to distribute studio pieces, but
there's something about mods that was just much cooler, as you had to
compose and be technically apt to be able to make a good sounding mod that
could fit in that small amount of chip ram.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • I usually like alot of the techno type music in mods cause that's what
sounded good, but Guitar Slinger really impressed me cause it sound so much
    like a real guitar playing.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • I dont' think anyone would want that.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Creed, No Doubt, The Bengamin Gate, Superchick[k], POD, and Linkin Park,
    mostly.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Aside from the technical aspects of the Amiga I like, a simple, effecient
and creative working environment. The Commodore/Amiga user groups that
used to dart the nation's landscape were great environments to share
techniques and enjoy the company of people who held like interests.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • I would be if I could find a user group within an hour of me.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Well, the only Amiga musician I ever met was Maruku Baranu, so hey to him.
Otherwise, hello to everyone envolved with the Tulsa Amiga Group.
