  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • 1984, My first machine was an Atari 600XL and it started due to the fact that I was always running into trouble at the Games Arcade.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Atari 600XL, ZX Spectrum Sinclair, Commodore64, Commodore128, IBM 286AT, IBM 386, IBM 486dx2 and 4 Pentiums. I would normally pass it on to somebody that want to learn more about computers that are unable to afford one.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • My life is a soundtrack and music is just so much more expressive than gfx. I am good at GFX so, it poses no challenge really. I actually sucks at music so, I continue to experiment and try to become good at it. I have written approximately 120 good tunes/songs that can compete commercially but, I still need to find the time and right formula to bring it to life on a machine.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Digitracker, Scream tracker and Impulse Tracker. My favourite is Impulse Tracker.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • None of them, they were all experimental.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • I am proud of all my tunes, each one improved on the previous.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • It is very valuable and will continue to be for a long time. It sets the mood. What would Myst or Unreal (FC Demo) be without the music?

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • I am still composing for leisure purposes, I have improved a lot though and is most of the time doing it live (with traditional instruments, like the guitar...I won't say real instruments, because the computer is a real instrument! And computer processed (not generated music) is real!)

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I think it's wonderful that we've made such a lot of progress. Midi has opened up a lot of doors in terms of ease of composing and producing, but the good old Mod family of formats still offers the most freedom to the newbie. ...and Many Thanx to the Amiga Mod that we have these other formats today, the inspiration started with Mod.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Cape Rain by Boydroid of course, was written on a cold wet and rainy Cape Town Sunday afternoon. The thunder sample was recorded that very same day outside my bedroom window. The tune had a creepy cold feel to it with unstructured piano playing in the background. I always felt like this when my father wasn't at home on a Sunday night when the wind was howling outside and I couldn't sleep.

That is what I want to bring across in my music. Computer music can be meaningful.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • We will see. If I do AMP will be the first to premiere some of the tunes. But the music will always be free. Cyberworx once played in a nightclub and it was a huge success! We could have released an audio CD but we felt that the music should always be free. Unfortunately the music died. Boydroid who is now Bluwulf will be coming back with a brand new release in 2006/2007 to keep the music alive.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • I am currently listening to Bluwulf. But commercially to Texas, REM, David Lee Roth, A-ha and Depeche Mode of course.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • It gave me a very rewarding platform to communicate with my brothers and sisters globally. I will not die in vain somewhere someone sometime have heard my name, listened to my music and immortalized my legacy!

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Not at this moment, but maybe soon.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • I am greeting everyone that is a part of the scene and for those of you that are struggling to make an impression, it is not about the fame or the fact that your tune is not as catchy as your buddie's or Purple Motion's Unreal, but about self expression. THERE ARE NO BOUNDRIES IN MUSIC, THE BEATLES DID NOT COMPROMISE THEY REVOLUTIONISED. We do not follow the path we create the path, don't be shy be the solution.
