    Group: The Silents

Date of birth: November 2:nd 1971

  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I bought a Spectrum 48k and that was the start of a long loving relationship
    with computers.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • - Spectrum 48k :: Played and having fun
    - Coomodore 64 :: Played and having fun
    - Amiga 500 :: One of the leading persons initially (with Dezed and Animal)
did some GFX, some music and a hell of lot of swapping.
    - PC, PC and PC :: Work, work and work ;-)

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I really didn't compose that many tunes. I remember the songs I wrote was
rather boring. However, when other groups ripped a couple of the songs i
made it was really a moment of pride.

I was the one responsible though for bringing in some of the legendary music
makers of The Silents. The danish fraction (among them was Jesper Kyd) and
Blaizer from the Swedish group Top Swap (also known as Ninja Cracking Crew).

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Soundtracker was the one.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I never became as good as the music that I had in my head :-)

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • I was really amazed by the tunes that Blaizer composed and after trying to
learn from him I pretty much gave up on competing, he was to good (well
Jeper to but he joined in later)

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • It is one of the most important things, but still, there is nothing like the
old school music (c64/amiga), I don't know why but I enjoy listening to the
old classics more than the music that is created for the games today.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • I write music for my own relaxing needs and it is only for me ;-)

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • It's not the same. It might be for the people growing up and learning music
in the mentioned formats but for me it is tracker music that is number one.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Blaizer and Jesper... they did amazing tunes... all the time. But my alltime
favourite is the leadtheme for the game Fairlight (it came before the group)
that still today pops up in my head on a regular basis. It was a hell of a
    tune.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Jesus christ no

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • R&B and swing sets me in the right mood.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Chills

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No not really, I try to keep an eye on things but...

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • The amazing Silents, we did something really great, not that we knew that
then. Cool was always the rule for the group.
