    Date of Birth: 7.2.1974

  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • My father had programmable calculators, I was very young about 7 or so, 1980
or 1981, some time after that he bought a VIC-20. I got into the c-64 "scene"
    somewhere in 1986/1987.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • VIC-20,C-64,Some MSX,AMIGA 500, All generations of PC's.. With VIC-20 I mostly
played games and programmed basic, on c-64 I programmed assembler and did
music, with msx I just played, with Amiga I played, did music and programmed
and I've used PC for pretty much everything like everyone nowadays.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I also programmed quite much. I did music because I could, there was no
articular reason to it and I had no special skills or talent for that. I was
just a kid with a computer. I have learned quite a bit about music over the
    time though.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • 1st on Vic-20 and on c-64 I used some simple composing programs, then on c-64
I programmed my own music players and did stuff on that platform. I also
programmed my own player on AMIGA but never released anything done with it -
everbody was using modules, so the available tracker tools were handy. Since
1990 I also did stuff on synths and used KCS on AMIGA and PC and later other
available software such as Cubase and later Cubase audio on PC as MIDI
    sequencers.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Funny question, I think I only released 1 or 2 modules overall in some compo's.
I have always been more of a c-64 scener and they don't call musical pieces
"modules". All the houdred or so unpublished amiga-mods were briefly
available at my web site, which is no longer in operation. I have no
    particular favourites, they all suck.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • A lot of them and simply coz they are bad. I also don't like that someone sent
some of my early and unpublished c-64 tunes to HVSC without asking me. Now it
is impossible to get them out of there anymore.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Music is 50+ percent of the experience, a demo should be a story, like a movie
or make a point and music should alleviate the mood of all of it. The same
applies for a game, best games had the best mood also and a lot of it had to
    do with music.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • I spend a lot of my spare time composing music or producing music with my
    friends.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I think that those are just dataformats. Music is music and mostly format
    independent.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • No

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Perhaps.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Well, a lot of them, each week some new good one comes about, I'll find their
stuff and try to unfersand them. Recently I listened to the Matrix Reloaded
sountrack. Some fine tunes by Don Davis, Fluke and Juno Reactor, but the CD
sounded terrible because it is way too "loudness maximized"

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • long time friends, a lot of skills, deep understanding of technology, machine
intuition, some great events, that kind of stuff.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • I sometimes chat in IRC at #c-64 @ircnet and keep in touch with old friends.
I have done some C-64 remixes for fun, that's all. I also visit Assembly in
    Finland occasionally.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Greetings to all old C-64 folks.
