  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • It start when a friend of me had got a Thomson TO8! In 1991 I think. My
interest grows up for programmation and making creative piece with computer.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • First I had lately a 286, I started to play with it, an to do also some GFX.
After come the 386, this computer had change a lot a things, VGA cards an
    better audio system with audio-cards.
For a long time the PC had only the internal speaker to make sounds, it was
    horrible!
    Today I work on a Duron 1Ghz.

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I've tried to code a lot of time (in Basic!) but as it interrested me, I must
recognize that I am not talentued for this! I'm better in GFX because I like
drawing, but finaly I have really spend a lot of time to work on music, so it
    became my better domain.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • First was KingMod (It have the particulary to make MOD in a clear an intuitive
graphical interface, perfect for beginning), after came Scream Tracker,
    Impulse Tracker and today, Renoise.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • The music "Song Hong" witch has been edited by a French label on a record an
apreciated by a famous french music magazine! It is satisfacting.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • There a lot of tunes I don't remember, all tunes that don't have satisfacted
me... but they are old. It was at an old period where I tryed to compose
"techno" tunes... but I din't arrive to make it good! Today I am better! :)

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • It depend of the autor's goal. For me in a game or a demo, as in a film, the
musical ambiance could be a real part of the succes... but this is not the
major part. Good music don't make a good game! :)

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • I compose today for professional projects (games, CDs...), but I don't live
with this work. I also make music for leisure when I have the time...

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Standars have the avantage to be playable on the majority of the computers now.
Modules files need a specific player, an with new technologies (virtual
intruments, DSP...) it is harder to make a standard module player for playing
    that...

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • One of my favorite module is "Belfort city" of Malcom Z, not really famous but
really good. I have alway listen a lot of music from the demo scene, my
favorite song was for a long time the "Second Reality" demo sound tracks. I like
also today "Irish biniou song" from Rez.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • No, I would prefert to make new pieces of music!

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Japanese POP and rock (X-Japan, Ayumi Amasaki...), Electronic music (Laurent Ho,
Astral Projection, Dave Clark...), and a lot of animes soundtracks (Evangelion,
    Ghost in the Shell, Metropolis...)

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • I was not in the amiga or c64 scene but I can say the demoscene have bring me
the passion for being better and better with my own low-cost material!

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Not, I contribute sometimes for somes projects but it is occasional... But I
often think to recontribute for a demo or anything else...

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • I have to greet all programmers who have developped the sound-trackers in all
plateforms, I am already impressed by the power of these low-cost programs.
Renoise today is the best example!
