  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • It all started from my math teacher's passion for his TI58, in other
    words hardcore coding.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • I started with a Ti57, then came a Casio FX702P, followed by an ORIC-1, an
AMIGA 500 (great), an AMIGA 2000 (which I still switch on every now and
then) and I ended up as many of us in the PC world (PII 400MHZ still
sufficient for composing music and loads of other thing too)

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I have been playing guitar since the age of 12 so quite naturally music was
    the art I handled best.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • AMIGA the great PROTRACKER
    PC the excellent CakeWalk

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • My goal was to make musics that would please my friends. We were very
glad when one of our demo ended up in the french magazine AMIGA revue
(no need to mention the name of the tunes I think)

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Every tune is linked to its time, a feeling. I have composed them all
    with a great pleasure.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Same as in a film, fame musics create the ambiance and set the pace.
If it contains good melodies and if you can listen to it with pleasure
    then it is good.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Nope as I am a married man, proud father of two young girls (4 years and
6 months) and as I have a pretty old house to repair. All this eats a lot
of free time as you most probaly know (still I have the desire and hope
of getting back into composing someday).

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • Midi is highly interesting as it is compact. Other formats are just
interesting for being. Each one of us should consider using the format that
fits him most according to its demands: size friendly, good sound quality
without too many losses or even no losses at all.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • I have already made a cd with all the musics I composed on synth and
expander. I am thinking about making a cd that would contain most of my good
old amiga modules. This is for my own delight and for my friends' pleasure
    too of course.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • As anyone else I have a pretty big list of favourite songs but the
following singers and bands are the ones I like most:

    -MARK KNOPFLER (Dire Straits)
    -PINK FLOYD
    -Francis CABREL
    -DIDO
    -Eric CLAPTON
    -ERA
    -Irish music
    -Anything related to blue music

    etc...

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • The opportunity to express myself (in a musical way) all alone.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Nope, Omd has died and everyone left on its own side. We kept contact but
there are no plans of releasing anything.

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • I am glad that someone still remembers ROLLING. I know that some of my mods
were heard in France and maybe in some other countries too. What makes me
even happier, is to know that some people such as Crown remember be, that
proves that some of my modules have been liked and I want to thank you for
    that. Cheers!
