I just loved the ugly little thing =). After that I spent months tormenting my parents, desperatly trying to make them buy one for me... My dad bought one which he let me use, and from that day, I've been stuck!! =) 1 C-64, 1 C-128D 2 Amiga 500, 1 Amiga 600.. Pc's were: P133, P233, P2-450! I tried a little bit of everything with those machines..=) Also, since I loved games, I bought a lot of consoles, and to this date I've been through the following ones: 1 Intellivision, 1 Snes, 1 Megadrive, 1 N64, 4 Playstation, 1 Dreamcast, 2 Playstation 2 and one Nintendo Gamecube. When It comes to computers nowdays I have one AMD 1,4Ghz and one P4 2,4Ghz... They are beeing put to use in many areas, but mostly music and videoediting. Enough boasted. =) Well, I suck at drawing stuff, both with pencil and with pixels, so gfx wasn't my thing, so to say. As for coding, I never had the talent required. I tried a little on the C-64, but I realized that my brain was too small for that mission...=) I tried Futurecomposer on the C-64. I used Soundtracker, Noisetracker, Protracker and Melontracker on the Amiga. As for the Pc-trackers, there were and are only one choice : Fasttracker! When It comes to midistuff I'm using Reason 2.0 and some Cubase VST32... None.. I never had any goal with my composing actually.. I guess my reward came when ppl from around the globe started to snailmail me and told me that my music actually sounded ok in their ears...=) Well, there is one called "Koleosimi" which sounded just about 97% like a mixture of Mantronix' Overload song with sounds and songarchitecure from one of Lizardkings songs. Man that was hillarious! Some parts was almost ripped out of the originals, and the song was lame like hell.. Well, the 2 persons mentioned above were among our greatest idols back in those days, so I guess we wanted to sound like them. Well, Lizardking found out about it and I apologized to him.. Guess I should have contacted Mantronix too.. Anyway, a cool fact about the song is that I was not alone composing it, but this certain person chose to say that only I had composed the "ripped" part of the song, which I still today find rather...weak, so to say.. Well, the main thing is that you learn from your mistakes, isn't it? I know I did, but I wonder if the other, unmentioned composer did... The music sets the mood, whether you want it or not, so I guess...about I compose sometimes, but not often, and only for leisure.... It's gr8 stuff, but I find trackermusic to be unique. It required more from the composer than todays formats... Anything with Heatbeat, Lizardking, or the old Phenomena musicians are examples of really good music. Also, Mazon/Ex Equinox did really gr8 songs... Ahum...No.. Oh, I listen to a bit of everything...no certain bands actually... One all-time favourite though, is the legendary rockgroup Kiss (believe it or not)... Both pain and pleasure... There was so much competition, jealousy, rivalry and more. Sometimes people (including me) behaved like complete assholes to each other just because of the scene. On the other hand, I can remember many good things too. Many fun days with friends in front of our computers, just chilling out, composing, coding or whatever... Anyway, the scene wasn't a place for me, and will never be again... Question 13 Deja-vu.. My girlfriend, my family, and my friends (you know who you are). One individual greet though goes to Crown/Crb for his gr8 work with the site you're probably reading this interview on..=) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2003 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
