We had computers in school: the CBM 3xxx-Series with black edgy Datasettes. I learned Basic on them and a little bit assembler (it was more how to open and use the machine language monitor...) CBM3032, C64, SX64, Atari 1040 ST, Amiga500, Amiga2000D,some PCs. CBM3032: Sold in an ebay-auction to Austin/Texas, can now be seen as picture on www.zimmers.net ;-). C64/SX64, PCs: Still own them. Amigas and Atari: Sold. Good question. I tried to make some logos on c64, but the others said they look like shit and have ugly colors. I am not so talented in visual things. As for Music: I always wanted to compose music, but i did not play any instruments very well and was not so good in reading notes. I had some own songs in my brain, and the c64 together with chris hülsbecks soundmon was the initial ignition for me to transfer the compositions into listenable material. Coding: I tried, but was not tough enough and so gave up ;-) On C64: Many. Fireeagle Composer, Future Composer, Romuzak, Jori-Olkkonen-Composer, Soundmon, Scoop-Editor, Rockmon, and some I forgot. Also to mention: Supertrack by Gerhard Lengeling, together with MIDI and my Korg T3. On Amiga: Protracker. I tried Octamed but did not like it. On Atari ST: Steinberg Cubase with MIDI, Emagic Creator. On PC: Fasttracker, Madtracker, Sk@letracker, Renoise, Fruity Loops, For MIDI: CUbase VST/32/SX, Sonar 2.2/3/4, Logic5.5 and many Plugins and Audio Editors (f.e. Audition and Waves-Plugins). I use the creamware Scope Hard-and Software (Synths, FX, Mixing/Routing aso.). Wíth Amiga-Modules I did not feel like reaching any goal. "Tresios" was nice anyway. Some. Not finished, bad mixing, bad instruments. It adds much emotion and therefore is important. Yes. For Demoscene, for own Album and for other People (Remixes, Compositions, and as Rapper "Betakant" in www.dieoxidiertenschweine.de) Don't get the point of the question. All these formats have their own reasons for existing. I'm glad that there is that much variety of formats Amiga: Melonmania by Audiomonster C64: Fifth Dream of Happiness by Yip Tracked on PC: Sunrise (?) by A-Move PC-Softsynth: The Soundtrack to the Elitegroup-Kasparov-Demo by KB as MP3/OGG/Stream: Jupiter (?) by Little Bitchard No, but with new stuff. All kinds of music-directions and bands. Alltime-favorites: Steely Dan, Peter Gabriel, The Parliament/Funkadelic-People (George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Junie Morrison aso.) Experience in composing with sampled sounds. Yes, in the Breakpoint-Organizerteam, as Scythoior in Squoquo and NAF (shortcut for New Age of Frontline, in case someone would ask), going to several parties and the monthly SCSM (Southern Comfort Scener Meeting in Munich/Germany) Deejay, Brother Mike, Jella, Sens and others I haven't heard of for a very long time. If there is a god, please bless the scene ;-) CreActivity forever! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2005 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
