My friend got his first Spectrum and after some time he bought a C-64, it was back in 1986 or something. Anyway, I also bought the good old C-64 and had a great time with it... Well, first I had that C-64. I played of course games (who didn't ;-)) and later I also got interested in the scene and tried to do some swapping. Back then it was a bit hard because my English wasn't so good (I was only 11 years old...). Then when Amiga was introduced I bought it. Then I started to swap more seriously and well, that lasted for really many years... A bit later I also started to compose music. Nowadays I have a Pentium (it's just funny to remember how much I indeed hated PC back in the old Amiga days, heh...). You just should see my old drawings and then you wouldn't ask that, heh... Seriously, I've always been more into music so the choice was quite an easy one. With Amiga I used SoundTracker and later Protracker. With PC I use FastTracker and Rebirth. Dunno, from the older tunes I liked the ones released in the Scrapers Musicdisk, but later they started to sound like crap... Maybe the chip-tunes I used in my own packs were the best ones... One quite unfinished one was used in one Delicious intro... In a demo music is as important as code and gfx. Together they all form the overall design of the demo. In some games music isn't so important, but for some it's really an important part of creating the right athmosphere (like in Grim Fandango for example...). A bit, mainly for my own pleasure but of course I might someday join some pirate-group to spend lazy retirement days, heh.... Mp3 is really a nice way to trade music over the internet. Klisje Paa Klisje by Walkman, Digiexpress by Shorty, nearly every tune made by Bruno, Julius (ex-Mad Freak), Dizzy & Heatbeat. From the more recent composers I like Radix, Elwood & Dune. Nopes! List would be a huge one, but names you asked, names you got: Propellerheads, Beastie Boys, Prodigy, RedHotChiliPeppers, Beck, Apollo440, Cypress Hill, Jimi Hendrix, Depeche Mode, U2, Chemical Brothers, Moby, Primal Scream etc etc... A lot of good memories, pretty good english, friends, friends & friends. No. I stopped my scene activities in 1996. A big hello to all my old contacts and group mates! Feel free to contact me! (especially old Delicious doods...) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2001 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
