  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • The year was 1985, I was seven and we got a C64.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Only that particular C64, and with it I mostly played games like Commando... LOL

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • Maybe because my friend (Wicked / Scoopex) made some really good music at the time.
His talent made me get an Amiga and give it a shot. I never considered coding and
didn't have gifts for graphics.. nor music in the beginning, note. :)

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • I guess I started with some early Noisetracker (this was 1992) but quickly turned to
Protracker. The version I used most was 2.3d. I loved it.
I did some stuff with Wicked on OctaMed also, that was kinda nice.
Tried something with DigiBooster, didn't like it. Maxitracker sucked. Sequencer One
sucked. Bars And Pipes wasn't my cup of tea.

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • Angel, Brittany & A Shade of Blue for the more musical stuff and I guess Deliver Us To Evil
from the more aggressive styles of mods I made.

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • Yeah, lots of them are downloadable here... naah just kidding. It's all good, you just
gotta love your old stuff. It's traumatic, but what can you do? Each of them was a step
    forward, I think.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • Oh, for me music was 90% of the demo. I still remember the music in Kefrens' Guardian Dragon,
Jester's demosongs, "Mindflow" by Strobo/Stellar (that was great!)... not to put coders or
graphicians down, everything was important. But I think good music was what made a great demo.
Lots of games didn't need music, but the ones that did have a good soundtrack tend to be the
ones I remember the best. Amiga music took gaming experiences to a new level after C64.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Yes I am... for both of those purposes. Most of the time I'm concentrating on our trance
/ breaks -project called Syna. We're releasing our debut single within six months, and have a
remix out of Orkidea's "Beautiful" very soon. I'm also working on music in short films,
commercials and stuff like that. Released some stuff as 'DeCall' from 2001-2004.

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • There's nothing out there that's close to Amiga music inspiration-wise.
With Protracker you could conjure up a song in a matter of minutes or hours, and
mess with samples in a way that's very difficult with traditional sequencers.

There was a long period of time for me when things became overly complicated, with
MIDI mainly. It seems simple now but the jump from trackers to hw synths, racks of fx and
stuff took away from my music. I just wasn't able to realize some of my ideas anymore.
Now it's become simpler again, with soft samplers and great sequencers (like Logic), and
I'm enjoying a good season of inspiration right now. I like to use both hardware and software
    synths & samplers these days.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Jester-Cyberide, Uncle Tom-Spell Amelioration, Wicked-Jammin', Captain-Space Debris,
    everything by S.L.L., Vegard!-Monolog, Moby-Elekfunk, Strobo-Mindflow, Groo-Towards
    Immortality, Nutcase-Reflections, Di33y-Towards and Back, Jogeir-Physical Presence,
    Virgill-Interference... there's a lot!

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • No. But I am planning to send you guys some of my more recent (and decent) modules.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • BT, Prodigy, Hybrid, Pryda, Rex The Dog, Blue Foundation, Ferry Corsten

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Memories, friends, a hobby / career in music, great experiences from demos/modules/parties.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • No - is there still a scene? ;)

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • To my pal Vegard!/Scoopex - send me your e-mail, it's been ten years.
To everyone in Zenon - get off the irc.
To people that downloaded my old songs - I'm sorry. I promise the later ones are a lot better.

And to the people running this website : THANK YOU. What you're doing is important.
    Keep it alive.
