  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • C64 received at christmas 1984(?)


  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • C64 - sold to a farmer for his son in Shannon New Zealand with all floppies.
    Amiga 500 & 1200 - donated to TomCat in return for full backup off data and
    sources


  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I coded mainly. Did music only occasionally.


  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • Soundmachine, SoundTracker, Protracker


  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • They are all very rough sounding, perhaps if I had spent more time on them I
    would have been more pleased.


  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • They are all fairly embarrassing as it is. Never released the really
    appalling ones...


  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • I can name many games simply because it had a Galway or Hubbard tune. (Add large
    list of other composers) but I couldn't tell you what kind of game it actually
    was. Often I would just rip the tune out so I could play it, but not play them game.


  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Alas no. When I moved from New Zealand I sold the keyboards and only brought the
    1200 as means to connect the the 'net.


  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • There was some special talent to be able to make a catchy tune with restricted
    number of voices, and "everyone" having the same samples, and yet they did. Mind
    you, I still like getting remixes of great classics :)


  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • Galway, Karsten Obarski - any of them. Awesome, Kyd, Brimble.. all great people.
    Had the pleasure to bump into Brimble while I was working for Argonaut.


  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • Heh, very unlikely. To me they are nostalgic, unsure why anyone would want to
    listen to them.


  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Armin Van Buuren, Digweed, Fluke, Daft Punk, even Scooter.


  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Good hardware knowledge, programming skills, a foot into the Games Industry and
    later employment there.


  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Not really, I still program like crazy, but more on Unix, networking and
    cryptology which isn't really connection to the scene. Often grab the winners
    from the demo parties to see whats is going on.
