  • 1-How did your interest for computers start? Which year was that?

  • I think it was in the year 1988 when I got a C-16 as present from my aunt.
From this time on I started being familiar with computers. One year later I
got a C-64 and started making music. Ok, playing games was the main interest
but when in 1990 a AMIGA 500 came into my life ( that sounds funny ), I
slowly started composing with ProTracker. A few years later I bought an A1200.
Then, I think you can call it Case Moding the computer moved into a tower.
Later it was upgraded with a Blizzard 1260 Turbocard with 32MB ram and a 2GB
Harddrive. The first PC contact was made just a few years ago in 1999. Before
that time a had nothing to do with any Intel machines.

  • 2-What machines did you previously have? What did you do with them?

  • Like I said

    1988 C-16
    1989 C-64
    1990 Amiga500
    1996 Amiga 1200 ( Blizzard 1260, 32Mb, 2GB … Build into a tower)
    1999 PentiumII 200Mhz
    2002 AthlonXP1700, 512MB Ram, GeForce3 128MB, 40GB HD
    2003 AthlonXP2600, 1GB Ram, GeForce4 256MB, 60GB HD
    2004 Notebook, SONY VAIO P4 3,06 ht, 512MB Ram, GeForce5600go, 80GB HD

    I still have 2 C-64 (not working) and a C128d (working! >()

  • 3-For what specific reason did you end up making music rather than gfx, coding?

  • I ever was interested in music. I was 5 years at the Folkwang Musikschule in
ESSEN (Germany) and learned playing drums. Before that I was at a music
elementary school. Learned things like flute or bells. Grr. I hated that. :)

So, that was the job for me: Musician.

  • 4-Which composing programs have you been using? Which one in particular?

  • C-64 don't know the name. Some kind of Drum Computer I think.

    Amiga Soundtracker, Protracker2.2, Protracker3

    PC FastTracker, MadTracker, FruityLoops, FM7

  • 5-With which module did you feel you had reached your goal?

  • I think I am a kind of perfectionist. So, everytime I listen to my modules a
find more or less parts still to edit or to change. It takes a long time till
I spread a module and think it's good enough. I delete 60% of my work because
I don't think that the sound or the feeling is good enough for the audience.

Maybe the mod Woman in my head from 1994 ( was my contribution to TP ) was a
good one. It was rated with 80% on the Back2Roots site

  • 6-Is there a tune you would like not to remember? For what reason?

  • As is said, I delete 60% of my mods. Only the strong are going to be released.

  • 7-In your opinion, what's the value of a music in a demo, game?

  • I makes no difference what style of music in a demo or game is used. As long
as the music supports the style or the mood, it's Ok.

  • 8-At present, are you still composing? For professional or leisure purposes?

  • Oh yes. I'm still composing. For both reasons. Still hope to get famous

  • 9-What do you think of today's pieces of music such as mpeg,wave,midi,etc...?

  • I think mpeg makes it much easier to transport music or broadcast it in a
live stream over the internet. So, get loose of all the rubbish, you cant even
hear like in a pure wav file. Midi?! I think this is the all time standard and
    will ever be.

  • 10-Could you tell us some of your all times favourite tunes?

  • I almost like all Virgill Tunes. They are that high standart and have a
    marvellous sound.

  • 11-Are you planning to make an audio cd with some of your music remastered?

  • I already did that. I was reviewed in JP#10 I guess.

  • 12-What bands are you currently listenning to?

  • Oh, this depends in what mood im actually in. Normally I like House, Techno
and Trance music. But I also listen to Rock, DnB, RnB etc.
Depends on the time and place.

  • 13-What does/did the amiga/c64 scene give you?

  • Not much. A really big mod and demo archive on my HD, that's it.

Just joking. I really enjoy watching demos. I could sit for hours at the pc
and just watch one after another.

  • 14-Are you still active in the scene these days?

  • Hmm, Question back. Was I ever active in scene?

  • 15-Anyone to greet? Anything left to say? Feel free...

  • Hmm.. Greets fly out to S7ING/BONZAI REVIVAL for being still a good friend.
    Probably the best ever!

Right now I'm sitting in KABUL, AFG filling this interview sheet. So,
hopefully I get my ass not splattered out of here. C ya.
