They were Commodore VIC-20 and Commodore 64. I was very interested as a youngster and was playing games all the time. Then my family bought me my own C-64. It was great. I had the Commodore 64 and then the Commodore Amiga. I remember I bought a PC in the year -93. The C-64 was just a game playing machine for me. I made lots of stuff on the Amiga, mainly graphics and music. I used Protracker 3.15 and Deluxe Paint 3 and 4. Defcon 5 was a tiny Amiga group based in Kankaanpään in early 90's. There was propably two productions and they were both shit. So it was more of a hangout group with my friend, Raven. We did release a graphics disk that contained graphics and music by me. :) I don't know. I like music and as a youngster when I listened to some tracks by jogeir or lizardking I wanted to try if I could make similar stuff. And I have always liked the tracker software.. and modfiles. the idea that musician can write his or her own comments in the file and then release it through BBS's or the internet, it's great. I've used protracker, screamtracker 3, fastracker 2, skaletracker, cakewalk, cubase, reason, also tried some others like octamed, resound, madtracker, modplugtracker... In particular I've used fast tracker 2, and later skale tracker Maybe "Guild of Sounds" is a mod that is still my best work. There are many but you can be the judge. If the music is great in a demo (for example Trauma's Line Age, amazing music by Cube and Phaser, coding not so unbelieable) it can really save the whole thing. Also the same thing in a game, but not so much because a game is meant to be an entertaining experience for a long period of time, and great music can't save a total shit game. Yes I do compose, just for my own pleasure and on my own time, not forgetting the demoscene heritage.. They're ok. As long as demoscene music stays in it's own category. It would be shame if in the future demoscene musicians would be the same as the kids who pump up the same trance tracks day after day from Fruity Loops. I think demoscene musicians are the best and the most imaginative in the world, if one just cares to give a listen. http://www.scenemusic.net is a good link. :) Of course Elwoods tunes are my all time favourites and also have been a big inspiration to my tunes. When I started tracking I listened to lot of Jogeir Liljedahl and Lizardking so they are the big stars. Also of course there's Purple Motion and Skaven and their famous tunes. That will always be the dream. :) Lordi, Finnish Eurovision winner 2006! :) Nightwish, Metallica, H.I.M. Yngwie Malmsteen A hobby. Yes, maybe I am. Dad, Mom, sisters, Raven, Elwood, Velluv, Scene.org crew, Nectarine crew, hellos to everyone.. :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- please note: this interview is ©opyrighted in 2006 by crown of cryptoburners ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
